I'm sure you know just as well as I do what he's saying. Stop trying to arrest him for word crimes.

Yeah it's good stuff. I'm too laid back to take it on a weeknight though, unless I don't have to work the next day. I'll stay groggy for a whole day afterwards.

I never claimed antivirals are a the same as a vaccine. That is your interpretation of my post regarding remdesivir Phase III trials. Managing respiratory distress is key in the vaccine process, especially with dealing with high risk patients.

Measles reference was only to point out how effective vaccines are in that even though you've been exposed, doe's not make you immune. I'm not defending Trump in this regard. Merely pointing out the process as I see it. Cancer clinical trials are what I know (I manage data and not a clinician) and most patients we get, we are their last resort so the research is crucial.

And the below link provides a taste of why Antivirals are crucial in the process of developing vaccines. That said, good day!

If you are already in respiratory distress from the virus then it is too late for a vaccine. You would need an antiviral

You are pointing out a data limitation for which the medical experts currently engaged all over the world are intimately aware.

It would do wonders for SS, if millions of retirees die, which should make Democrats clap. More money for SS and less old white people voting for Trump. You know every Democrat strategist is running their hands together like Mr. Burns. ;)

Straight from NIH itself. Also means that the NIH trials can move quick to the NCORP consortium and allow for other sites to start trials locally.

How is posting a thread about Trump being called out by the AP for providing false assurances and then providing some actual data politicizing the crisis?

I said Trump used the word hoax while discussing the virus. That objectively did happen and the quote was, "Democrats are politicizing the virus...it is their new hoax." Even if you think the meaning of that quote is perfectly clear (and I do not), then it is still a really ****ing dumb idea for the President to use the word "hoax" while discussing the virus because a segment of the population will misunderstand and believe (based on their trust of Trump) that the virus is either itself a hoax or the severity of the threat posed is a hoax.

Second, I trust the medical experts who tell us we are are more than a year away from a vaccine and those who rate the United States as the most prepared, but not "by far" and not adequately prepared.

Third, I don't see any political advantage in Trump ****ing up. I do see a personal and societal benefit from holding Trump's feet to the fire and getting him to do better and by proposing an alternative leader who will do a better job.

Fourth, I am calling Trump a liar because he is objectively and knowingly stating false information.

Finally, what good is providing a warning of what can happen after the fact?

I know it, the right leaning posters here seem to know it, and surely the medical experts know it ---- but we have plenty of uninformed posters here who don't seem to know it at all. Hence sometimes having to break things down here to the 3rd grade level and hope for the best....

After all, we have posters here who can't understand the difference between calling COVID a hoax, and calling the Dem's politicization of COVID a hoax. So sometimes here it is necessary to explain things in small words and simple sentences. ;)

    Don't shoot the messenger :D

Please feel free to use "small words and simple sentences" to explain what is meant by the quote "Democrats are politicizing the virus...it is their new hoax."

    What does that mean?

    You were serious???

Holy hell, that sentence is only what, 10 words long, and perfectly clear. If you honestly can't understand it, I can't help you. I thought you were joking.
