When you destroy the disease in a person's body, you win. That you haven't destroyed all the diseases of it's kind in the world does not diminish that victory.

When you can't cure a disease, but can interrupt the vector of transmission by inoculation and halt the disease progress and attendant mortality as history has proved with diseases such as polio, small pox, and others, the main goal has been achieved indirectly.

Keeping the disease out of a body in the first place... that sounds even more like a victory.

That was proved in Southeast Asia many times as peaceful farmers and families, even wee tots, Entire villages, were slaughtered wholesale.

The Anti Gun people insist I am somehow a nut because I carry my Glock everywhere, even the bathroom, I insist I am the sane one, I have had a public bathroom stall kicked open, the guy saw my Glock and ran off.

Why would anyone who carries a gun disarm before going to the bathroom? Methane ignition risk? ;-)

"A Utah teacher who accidentally shot a toilet while at school pleaded no contest Wednesday to discharging a weapon as part of a plea in abeyance. ... Ferguson-Montgomery initially told police the gun had fallen from a hip holster and accidentally discharged. The Tooele resident later admitted to removing the weapon from its holster and placing it on top of the toilet paper dispenser. ... Ferguson-Montgomery suffered injuries to her left calf, possibly from bullet fragments or pieces of the damaged toilet." (link)

I was a police officer in a major city, a Detective, I had to use a bathroom, so I see a nice restaurant, the owner knew me and waved, I hurry into the stall, no place to disarm anyway, And I don't want me gun laying on the floor, I could care less about the radio or cuffs, nowhere else safe to lay a gun, so I hold it in me hand, a mad bloke is kicking in stall doors and kicks in mine, sees me Glock and tuns tail and runs out.

I finish business and wash up really well, face etc... as I intend to have lunch after.
As I am leaving the bathroom, the outside is a sea or flashing lights, I walk towards the cash register and a uniformed Sergeant asks, "Are you on the job ?'" yeah, I respond, command yadda yadda, do you want to verify ? No, I have seen you before, have a nice day, you scared the *** out of that guy though, he stinks !

And the point of the above account is what exactly? What relevance does it ultimately serve to the discussion?
