Jet, one last time. It's a proposed law - in contrast to an actual law. You know, the difference between something that 'could/might' happen and something that has/is happening. This difference is important. As a grown up you should know this. And so again - the article you quoted does not show how Police operate down under (to be specific Victoria). At best it shows how they might operate.

So again the news article (more accurately drivel) you quoted at the start of this thread is just plain W.R.O.N.G.

 

Going back 30 or 40 years, the US has led the world in per capita rate of imprisonment. The largest single factor causing that situation is our idiotic drug policy of prohibition, combined with minimum mandatory sentences.
