AZ Sec Of State Wont Let Obama On Ballot Unless Hawaii Shows More Birth Records

It looks like the Arizona Secretary of State has decided that Sheriff Joe Arpaio's findings of probable cause that Obama's may be a forgery that it is necessary for Hawaii to provide more evidence that Obama was born there before he goes on the ballot. This actually is a first. Sec of State Ken Bennett stated:

“Because of the importance and profile of the president’s case, and at the request of many constituents, I have gone the extra step of asking the state of Hawaii to verify the facts contained in his birth certificate,” “Hawaii is bound by their own statutes to provide such verifications to other state officials in their official duties."

“With all due respect, the [Arpaio] investigation has not proven anything other than raised probable cause that the birth certificate posted on the White House website ‘may be’ a forgery. The next lawful step would be for the sheriff’s office to turn their findings over to the county attorney for prosecution,” he continued. “Evidence would be brought on both sides and a judge should issue a decision.

“Whether or not that happens, if Hawaii can’t or won’t provide verification of the president’s birth certificate, I will not put his name on the ballot,” he wrote.

Bennett’s communications director, Matt Roberts, told WND today that the secretary of state indeed has asked Hawaii for the answers. In fact, he said, there was a conversation about proper procedures to submit the request.

“We are awaiting their response,” he said.

The story will break all right, but it won't be Obama that gets hurt, it'll be the incompetent Secretary of State in Arizona, one of the most asinine states we currently have. In Arizona, children are conceived two weeks before conception(Gosh, what if they all decided that bills were due two weeks before they were due, or you get arrested two weeks before you commit a crime) and doctors can willingly withhold information from their patients if they think it could potentially influence a decision to have an abortion. I think Colorado must be dumping some brain retardant chemicals in the Colorado river just before it flows over the border.

There is nothing wrong with the request at all. It should be a perfectly easy thing to do, to prove and to put AZ at rest.

 

It absolutely does because it speaks volumes towards the amount of insanity the state of Arizona elected officials will display. Governments that will pass such silly laws as the ones I listed show a complete lack of connection to reality and so it's of no surprise when they embrace quackery like the birther movement. It speaks to their credibility, or in this case, their lack of.

Since a Grand Jury indictment or presentment is required to charge anyone with a capital or infamous crime (felony), pursuing a Grand Jury presentment seems proper.

Obama has already shown his short and long form birth certificate. I really can't see the point of doing it again, and I certainly don't see the point of halting the democratic process to chase after unsubstantiated conspiracy theories that have already been disproved. The state of Hawaii is under no obligation to give in to this nonsense, especially considering that it's already given in to this nonsense a year or so ago.

In the early 60's when my father was stationed in Arizona, I remember it as a beautiful state. Old people moved there to retire. Younger people moved there to escape allergies.

Somewhere along the way, it became popular to plant flowers and lay sod in an environment where they shouldn't be introduced.

For some reason, hordes of crazies started moving to Arizona about the same time.
