Had you bothered to probe a little deeper, you would have found that the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Act was passed as part of Public Law 111-84, the NATIONAL DEFENSE AUTHORIZATION ACT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010. The actual text of the act is at the link I provided. The link you posted below is just a summary.

Like I said, that's not the text of the law, which is what I asked you to cite to prove your claim. Instead, it disproves your claim, which is why you insist on ignoring it. I will just point out that the summary you posted also doesn't support your claim.

Are you just discovering that? It's not news to me.

    (emphasis added)

No, we don't know any such thing. Sexual orientation is defined as:

    https://www.google.com/#q=define:+sexual+orientation

    Not just homosexual.

Doesn't change what the law says or what it actually does.

I don't present myself as an expert on much of anything, and certainly not "all things gay". The assertion that I have "zero knowledge of the subject" is, however, absurd.

I have provided you with the link to the actual text of the law. I have provided you with the accepted definition of the term "sexual orientation". Both support the fact that I am knowledgeable of the subject matter, and illustrate that you don't know what you're talking about. The law does not give preferential treatment to homosexuals as you asserted. As I see it, you have the following options:

    1) Recant the false, disproved claim.
    2) Go silent on the issue and allow that to speak for itself.
    3) Continue to press the disproved claim with nothing of substance to back it up.
    4) Move on to a different argument
    5) Deflect and distract
    6) Make personal attacks

Those are the usual things one might expect a person in your position to do (well, #1 is hardly ever the choice made, but it is an option). Perhaps there are others I haven't considered. Regardless, it's your choice. What are you going to do now?
