    Off-Topic...:bored:
Jarrett was arrested in May 2014 by Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport police, who were called to an airport bar after reports that Jarrett seemed intoxicated and acted belligerently. Jarrett was booked into Hennepin County Jail and charged with misdemeanor interfering with a police officer as being “belligerent and uncooperative” and released on a $300 bond. Jarrett pleaded guilty in July 2014 to disorderly conduct in connection with the incident.
    Anyway, back ON-TOPIC:
Jarrett's Opinion about Biden "shredding the Constitution" is compete idiocy...
And, with or without a mugshot, I find it impossible to take Jarrett (a Pro-Trump RW Shill) seriously on any level...

No- but, we are in a time when pigs seem to fly sometimes, and we have to fight the nonsense. It should be obviously illegal as well as wrong to arbitrarily decide that taxpayers should pay the debts of people who created them, because it didn't turn out as they expected. The same logic could be applied to everything- houses, cars, etc. In the case of student loans, instead of having things repossessed and part of the loss recovered, the person taking the loan already has all the benefits- and they cannot be repossessed. This is a give-away- of the wealth of people who have earned it, without their consent- and with no compensating benefit at all. That makes it outright theft by government decree.

Dont get me wrong, I agree with you 100%.

It is my sincere assumption and hope that this too will be easily shot down by the USSC, but I have yet to see anyone on TV or in print state that to be the obvious eventuality. I was wondering if there was something in this calculation here that I am missing.

So it’s like medical debt. Except it can’t be discharged via bankruptcy, if I’m not mistaken.

Not unless there’s undue hardship on the debtor. So it’s not at all like medical debt.

    No- not like medical debt.
Medical debt is not created as an arbitrary choice, as student loans are.
The costs of medical debts are forced upon people; costs unknown, open-ended. Students can back off, change schools or objective requirements at will. They know what they are spending, and can control it.

Medical debts are also driven by costs that proper government could control- but our government ignores, even promotes the outrageous growth of costs in many areas.

There are several options where students studying law can have their loans forgiven or reduced.... and at the same time, our tort laws and open marketing of "somebody owes you" lawyer ads, drives the cost of medical care out of sight.

If you need a hip replacement in the USA, even with insurance- the bill will be around 60K, with a deductible of about 20%, an out of pocket of about 12K.
For 12K, you can buy a package deal in what's known as "medical tourism", where you fly to Spain to get your transplant, and in that package have all expenses including round-trip travel, hotel, hospital and surgery included. That's the difference in a government serving the people- and one serving special interests as the expense of the people.
The USA has the most liberal laws regarding the advertising of tort legal services; openly promoting and soliciting clients for litigations. Most nations forbid it.

We are literally subsidizing the education of people who propel that, as well as those learning useful skills that produce good incomes- and useless skills that serve no purpose, and don't provide the income to pay for the useless diploma.

Government lacks the capacity to manage anything well- and certainly has no business arbitrarily using taxpayer money to pay off private debts.

I won't tell you what my net worth is but it's far higher than 6 million. I note that most of the billionaires tend to be big government fan boys.

I never said that, you said — and I quote: “I vote on what is going to help push the policy decisions and judicial picks I support”

I don’t agree with half of what Joe or Democrats do — and previously I voted for them about 50% of the time until Republicans abandoned everything they said they stood for to form a worship circle around trump.

Projection makes a poor debate strategy

I have never seen someone on this forum brag as much as you unless it directly relates to the subject matter (such as business owners talking about issues they face or lawyers talking about case law — not so much bragging as saying their opinion might hold more weight) if you think your net worth is relevant to anyone else then thanks on you.

That you don’t know what the “or greater” means in my reply and still needed to throw that out is fascinating though.

    No one cares

I also noted you didn’t answer a single question that I asked though. So instead of replying with your opinion you doubled down on bragging. Telling…

You care or you wouldn't have responded. You falsely claimed that i intertwine millionaires with billionaires and I note that I actually constantly distinguish the two. You're upset that your charge was completely wrong

I responded because I am trying to get a direct answer from you which you are dodging like all hell

    I guess that’s answer enough

He is everything wrong with this nation

Morally and financially bankrupt and willing to destroy everything around him to make a buck, zero respect for others, short term thinking that causes long term issues (such as the PPP program, unfunded tax cuts, trade wars, negative interest rates, unqualified judges), him destroying public trust in our weather systems, Supreme Court and election processes, pushing Christian nationalist ideology, bragging and justifying sexual assault, advocating political violence…

And the biggest reason I am against trump, I abhor his extremist base and all that they stand for. I hate the trolling, the deflections, the lies and propaganda.

It isn’t that people have a hard time supplying people like you with the information, people like you just have a hard time retaining it between threads because if you have to debate this on the merits, you lose.

Which is why you are still unable to answer my prior questions.

I love how you don’t take issue with anything else but him pushing Christian nationalism but that single one makes it a “non answer”

    Sure bro

Here, let me repost it — and only it — so you cannot try and weasel out of it under the excuse of you don’t like an answer or trying to brag:

“Do you think it is a good thing for a society for single individuals being able to steer policy or buy media organizations to control their direction or shut down competition?”

I can tell you from experience that expertise matters not a whit to RWers here. Many of them continue to make ridiculous and brain dead arguments even when you point them in the right direction.
