Why would I believe anything YOU would tell me? My beliefs are arrived at from a series of checks and balances. (you wouldn't understand) but I would never believe a precept from a person that thinks he is "happenstance" without a purpose.

 

So what you have said in totality is that every human is a god unto himself. For instance, you only exist because I imagine you in my mind. I create you and you create me. Everything ends with the space between your own two ears. I am aware of such nonsense.
Let me help you here. The Founders knew we are here by intelligent design. Something far more intelligent than you or I could ever perceive. That "Creator" didn't just leavre us to our own imagination. He reached out to us. He IS for everyone to seek out and He inspires those who seek Him. Those who seek Him see His works.

Obviously you have taken a hit at the Bible and I do believe it is true.So did the Founders. However, the Creator, as they spoke of is not limited there. Even in the book of Romans it is said, God has made Himself known to every human in one way or the other. If you want to get legalistic, I could quote you Chapter and verse. Every person is gifted to know right and wrong. To acknowledge that those things come from a "Creator", greater than himself is all that is required. The concern is, the Nature of man is such that he thinks he possesses within his own two ears the "power" to lord over others as he sees fit without even considering right and wrong as the Creator has determined.

Because you and others are so vague about your moral anchor, I would never entrust my own liberty to the likes of you.

You don't need to take a single passage, quote it to me without the context of years of study and seeking, then with the application of your own wisdom making a case to discount the whole thing. There is a purpose for that passage but I don't think you are interested in knowing it. There is murder and mayhem throughout the Word. It is the History of Man kind. Cain murdered Able. That is not to say God condones murder. Look for God in scripture.....don't always look to man's judgement.

The Bible aside..... I believe, as I said, there are men that know the Creator without knowledge of the Word. All men are sovereign beings. The Founders never thrust their faith on anyone. They did come up with a system that showed us who we could trust.
