Because EVERYONE uses us as the example of what gun legislation reform can do. And remember the bloke that pushed through the 1996 firearm regulations was an arch conservative

I don't, your country has no relevance to ours. it's a worthless comparison. Your definition of conservative seems to be fascist or statist

I did-it shows that registration has almost no value-if any and that SYG laws and concealed weapons liberalization does.

Actually, no. Australia's gun crime was on the way down prior to the confiscation, just like it was in the US. The difference was that the slope of that trend was steeper in the US. Just because ignorant people use Australia as a model doesn't mean that they understand what they are saying. If anything, you could use Australia as a model for how gun confiscation doesn't do anything.

where was the stuff from 1993? the overall violent crime rate has decreased over the last thirty years

and this entire argument of yours is dishonest because you have admitted your constant complaining about USA Gun rights is based on you being upset over the NRA lampooning Australian nanny state laws

Meanwhile how is your mass shooting rate? Still going through the roof? And you are very close to personal attack with that which shows you have no answer to the manipulation that the NRA does

statistically irrelevant. are you denying that you have admitted that you constantly complain about US firearms laws because you were upset that the NRA posted anti Australian gun laws comments?

    https://www.nationalreview.com/2015/10/australia-gun-control-obama-america/

University of Melbourne researchers Wang-Sheng Lee and Sandy Suardi concluded their 2008 report on the matter with the statement, “There is little evidence to suggest that [the Australian mandatory gun-buyback program] had any significant effects on firearm homicides.”

“Although gun buybacks appear to be a logical and sensible policy that helps to placate the public’s fears,” the reported continued, “the evidence so far suggests that in the Australian context, the high expenditure incurred to fund the 1996 gun buyback has not translated into any tangible reductions in terms of firearm deaths.”

A 2007 report, “Gun Laws and Sudden Death: Did the Australian Firearms Legislation of 1996 Make a Difference?” by Jeanine Baker and Samara McPhedran similarly concluded that the buyback program did not have a significant long-term effect on the Australian homicide rate.

The Australian gun-homicide rate had already been quite low and had been steadily falling in the 15 years prior to the Port Arthur massacre. And while the mandatory buyback program did appear to reduce the rate of accidental firearm deaths, Baker and McPhedran found that “the gun buy-back and restrictive legislative changes had no influence on firearm homicide in Australia.”

I don't have access to either study so I'll have to take the author's word that they exist.

The main trend that is always shows was due to a drop in suicides and that trend was already on the way down. Homicides alone looked like this:

You haven't done squat with your conspiracy pitch. Who owns the gun or has possession of the gun makes a difference.

Also when someone guys 3 or more of the same gun, that should raise some red flags of a front man. People of my heritage, that were part of organized crime, would have a front man, who would lend out his weapon for a crime. The weapon would have to be returned by a certain date or they would declare it stolen.

LOL giffords. They say registration CAN LEAD to solving crimes. I sure don't see any proof

    registration nationally is unconstitutional
every group that pushes for gun bans wants registration
there is no benefit to gun owners to support registration

I agree. Also, felons and criminals don’t have to register their guns in the first place as it violates their right to not self incriminate. It’s another thing that would really only affect the law abiding.

the gun banners want registration to shift the burden of proof. Say the dems manage to make it illegal to possess an AR 15. They go to your house and say we know you owned an AR 15. without registration, they cannot prove you do, if it cannot be found. With registration, the burden is on you to sy what happened to it if they cannot find it. Plus they want to use registration lists to impose taxes or other fees.

EVERY GROUP THAT WANTS TO BAN GUNS WANTS REGISTRATION

So basically the Biden White House doesnt think Americans are buying enough guns. Because this is textbook 'how to get Americans to buy more guns.' The Democrat gun banners have been a more successful gun advertisement campaign than the NRA or manufacturers could have ever hoped to achieve. At this point one has to wonder whether they really dont get that or not....
