And what do you do about it? Nothing; after every atrocity and mass-killing you just whine about 'freedom' and the Holy Second Amendment which allows this senseless slaughter.

Why is pointing out hypocrisy, 'crap'? It might be worth reminding you that NORAID raised funds from patriotic Americans so that the IRA could bomb and maim innocent men, women and children in England. What a great country!

    Edited for sarcasm.

And what are they going to do about radical Islam?

    Nothing

    Comparing the two is dishonest.

No, what is dishonest is suggesting that there are degrees of terrorism. Explain why the IRA blowing people up is any different to ISIL doing the same.

One is all but extinct while the other has been committing attacks in Europe every 9 days.

To compare the two is descipable

So if ISIS,. Al Qaida and so on stops every attack, you will rate them the same way as the IRA later and stop to bash on islam?

Gun control is just about the hottest political issue in America, right next to illegal immigration and abortion.

There's plenty of outrage about it

Oh good grief. So using your awesome logic, or what passes for it, IRA terrorism which is still having repercussions to this day, is irrelevant?

Ha! No, I wouldn't want to be "emperor of the whole world". Poor, old Trump has been trying to ride that horse for about four months, and look at how well that's been working for him! No... besides, the "world" hasn't printed enough money to make me want to take on such a tiresome, futile job... but thanks for the offer.

How many times have you heard the fake-Pope, or Netanyahu, or the Saudi King, or Xi Jinping, or Putin, or Trump, or even an abject moron like Kim Jong-un tell people under their leadership that they are thenceforth COMMANDED BY GOD to abuse, torture, and murder other people on RELIGIOUS grounds? It ain't happened, Wyrd. Any of those leaders, and many more, might like to start wars of conquest for nationalistic or economic reasons, but with the possible exception of a big internecine war breaking out between the Shi'a (Iran) and Sunni (Saudi Arabia), nobody in the 21st-century is going to conduct premeditated murder campaigns based on devotion to their version of "god". In today's reality, this is a perverse phenomenon observed only among Muslims....

And now an admonition from the Serene, Omniscient, Wonderous Deity, THE GREAT TREE LIZARD...

When comparing to Muslim terrorism? Obviously.

And you know that. Why you don't feel silly comparing the two is beyond me but you have to downplay Islamic terror somehow, I guess.

You're the one dismissing the IRA and downplaying terrorism. A terrorist is a terrorist, whatever their motivation, creed or colour.

I know this very well ... was one of the first things I learned here in forum :-D

But about the stupidity in case of gun control discussion I can only shake my head! best example to show this stupidity is that a 19 year old guy can buy legally a gun or become a soldier and fight for the USA in Afghanistan and kill people in his duty, but if he wants to drink a Whisky in a bar he is not allowed before he is age 21! ;-)

Not here to talk about guns and liquor but you're right, it's a weird combination of laws.

OUCH! I gotta admit, Snake, you got me good with that one! :xd:

So, then, in fairness, I must confess you are right, and admit that one leader (of a nation without an 'official' religion) in our time has indicated that he led his nation into war because of the belief that he was instructed to do so by God. Perhaps many different leaders secretly feel that they follow unique instructions from God, but evidently, only "W" Bush was stupid enough to just blather all this out to the whole damned world.... :spin:

At this point, then, all I can do is reply that "W" Bush obviously deceived himself and his nation. Today, he is remembered as being gullible, stupid, and overreaching in his zeal to "fix" Iraq. Whatever 'guidance' Bush was actually under, it surely was not that of God.

But, in a greater sense, neither was Churchill, nor FDR, nor Stalin, nor Hitler during World War II. Men fight wars for different reasons, as I said... but today, right now -- at this moment (if you will), only one major religion in the entire world advocates abuse, torture, and murder of "infidels" who refuse to worship the Muslim God. And that religion is ISLAM.

[IMG]. "Hey! Don't blame me! I NEVER talked to "W" Bush!"

Sure, no topic here. I wanted only to give an example how weird things can become if someone change his perspective on things :)

Both religions teach hatred of non-believers, unlike Modern Secular Humanism.

We do both agree at least that religions, because they avoid reality so much, are bad for the world.

Do we agree? Which bit of this is bad for the world?-
"Love one another, feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the destitute, tend the sick, visit the prisoners, look after the poor"- Jesus of Nazareth (Mark 12:30, John 13:34, Matt 25:37-40)

Well Saddam was preaching terror and was rumoured to have WMD's, so in Bush's defence he had Bible backup..:)- -
"Ungodly...These men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed.." (2 Peter 2:12)

    "We got him!"- GW Bush
"He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made" (Psalm 7:15)

So if, say, HITLER did say a number of genuinely good, positive, wonderful things, that you'd change your mind about Hitler and say "you know, that Hitler wasn't so bad after all"? Would you?

Yes, the Bible helped to cause the invasion of Iraq.
