I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person who condemned the violent elements on both sides - good on you. Anyone seeking to score political points out of this situation is on a fool's errand.

I live near C'ville and even before the rioting started we were getting reports out of the local media that both sides had shown up looking for a fight. It wasn't hard to see that things were going to end badly and not surprisingly they did.

I said this two days ago and I'll say it again - both sides sucked. They should stay home and riot in their own communities - that crap isn't welcome here.

 

Why deny such an overtly obvious thing? Do you think it makes you look credible?

Here's a life lesson for you: next time you think a 'rightie' is 'trying to shut you up', recognize an argument for which you have no rebuttal as what it is:

There is as much left wing extremism in the USA as right wing extremism. If Nazis are representative of the typical republican, then antifa is representative of the typical democrat.

 

It's not "overtly obvious". Marxist professors get fired regularly because the universities and colleges are profit-making corporations, so they favor capitalism and don't like to see Marxism taught to students. Note, I didn't say there are no Marxist professors. There are a few token ones to "prove" the universities are "neutral", but there is no trend.

White nationalists or supremacists, whatever they want to call themselves, are an anachronism. They don't belong in and can't face up to today's real world.

They are not going to "take America back". That's not going to happen and on some level I think they know it. Instead of constantly trying to move backwards, they should use their tenacity and intellect (if they have any) to try to move the country forward. The chances are, for the most part, that they won't. They'll just leave the heavy lifting to the rest of us Democrats and Republicans alike.

i compare their slogans to Obama's of hope and change. Obama was pissed off at America for not being what he wanted. So he told us all he was to change it. Well these guys think he want backwards and wish to cancel his changes.
