Ok? I am simply pointing out the same failed argument used against interracial marriage is being used against same sex marriage

Apples and oranges. Race is race. Sexual behavior is sexual behavior. You know you cannot cherry-pick behavioral groups for special priveleges. All behaviors must be able to organize and call themselves a "race" or none of them may.

This ruse is "out of the closet".

Interracial marriage is a behavior- it is the marriage of a person of one race to a person of a different race- it is a choice and a behaviour- just as much as gay marriage is.

The fundamental question is whether all people should have equal access to the rights and protections or marriages, or only the privileged majority?

Your first point is insightful and valid. The second question though is off the mark. We deny civil rights to people when there is a need and it's unlikely we will ever grant equal access to all the rights of citizenship to all people. We need to protect 9 year olds from the adult responsibilities and commitments of marriage; we need to protect society from blind drivers.

A more fundamental question is, why is there a need to deny two men a marriage certificate?

the majority voted against inter-racial marriage too, that is why the majority should NEVER be allowed to vote away the rights of a minority

Interracial marriage or whatever marriage between man and a woman requires licensing and regulation because relationship between any man and woman might produce new life.
Non-sexual relationship or relationship between two people of the same sex do not require regulation or licensing at all.
Race has nothing to do with marriage.
Argument about race is stupid and non-logical, it demonstrate deceptiveness and evil coming from liberal political class.

As far as support / disapproval, majority of people were against segregation by the time segregation was abolished. Desegregation could not be done without support of interracial marriages.

I've always proposed that the Gays should really think about moving to their own island and starting a Gay government there and creatE their own gay constitution, laws, holidays, etc, before Corporations buy up all the island real estate. It's a lot easier than fighting the current system in America. So chop chop!!...you still have time to create your Utopia. You can still contract out for electricity, infrastructure, water, etc....JUST MOVE! I'm trying to help you. why won't you let me help you???!!! Call it Gay Island or the Isle of Gays, JUST MOVE!!!!!:peace: :psychoitc::strong:

Ok well this thread is about how where it SEEMS from all you hear from [gay-controlled: see GLAAD] media, that gay-marriage is well-supported; the votes always don't line up with polling. It's what I call the Prop-8 syndrome. That landmark defeat for gay marriage came about when put to the test. Previously the nation shuddered to hear media outlets clamoring to announce that "gay marriage has won!"; just prior to the vote there. And then it lost...handily. The OP of this thread discusses how the polling is manipulative to produce results that SEEM to be pro-gay marriage but when tested by votes, again and again, gay marriage goes down in defeat.

Proof's in the pudding as they say..

civil rights can't be voted on. that's why prop 8 was declared unconstitutional in federal court.

BREAKING CURENT EVENT: A majority of Americans, in fact, support gay marriage. The trend is continuing to increae for support as younger Americans are the most in favor. Heck, even blacks are now 40% in favor, according to a recent Gallup poll.

Still enjoy the fact that the OP's own poll proves her wrong. ;-) Irony is a beautiful thing.

Yet the voters in 38 states voted to outlaw it. Go figure.

I think we can all agree that this breaking current event is no longer a breaking current event.
