    This man ended Dan Rathers career. He has looked at Obama's document and thinks it's a forgery. This is not good for Obama and the White House has to be thinking 'What have we done'. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are fixing to witness the Obama regime implode just like Nixon did. This is worse than Watergate.

    Joseph M. Newcomer, who exposed the "Killian documents" as fraudulent in 2004, has told WND the Obama birth certificate released by the White House April 27 is a "highly suspicious" document that deserves professional forensic examination.

    "There is something deeply wrong here," Newcomer told WND. "There are artifacts in the birth certificate document that are strongly suggestive of a forgery. The document screams out that something is wrong."

    He said that it is highly suspicious and it is. So lets get it examined by an independant grouip of forensic experts. Also let his original copy be released and also exaqmined and declaired authentic. What is the problem with that?

    There are a lot of good articles on the CBS scandal that speak to who and where the criticism of the document's authenticity came from. This wasn't a case of one person breaking the story. As soon as the documents appeared there was immediate skepticism from all directions and CBS's integrity was called into question right off the bat. Of all the blogger and other commentators poking holes in the story early on Newcomer doesn't feature prominently.

    Read up - there's lots of information on how the CBS story unraveled and Newcomer wasn't at the forefront. He simply didn't 'break' the story as the OP claimed.

    So why not challenge the OP to substantiate his? Why jump into accepting yet another conspiracy theory without a modicum of reasonable skepticism or analysis?

    Conspiracy theories, especially around here, are easily debunked because the OPs don't particularly know the material that well. They tend to copy and paste other forum or blog posts which are themselves flawed. In this case the OP posted an appeal to authority fallacy to buttress his premise.

    On the subject of who broke the CBS scandal if you Google Harry MacDougald you'll find he gets credit for one of the earliest thorough analysis of the documents but many widely-read blogs were already raising doubts.

    Obama's character may be up for debate.

    His eligibility to hold the office of President of the United States, on the other hand, is a completely settled issue.

    You need to learn to separate the two.

    One of the characteristics of Birthers is that they cannot seperate the two.

    Matter of fact, from what I have seen, they start from the position of deciding that they believe his character is 'bad' and from there, embrace any theory that would result in him being ineligible.

The matter of his character is not up for, and is not the subject of this debate, and has been settled long time ago. It is not a theory :fart:
