This is your claim from page 1

In the EU you have no choice. It is impossible to introduce legislation, you are given them to vote on.

Show me your source for making that claim.

Just to be clear. You're saying that our European Parliamentary members or Great Britain can initiate legislation in the European Union? You do not think that only the EU Commission has that power?

Our Parliamentary members can only vote yes or no on legislation or propose an amendment. That is the limit of our say on EU legislation.

Precisely that! Our elected representatives have become mere rubber-stamping functionaries to implement laws made by effing foreigners who have no vested interest in the United Kingdom other than to count our contributions into their coffers.

I’m waiting for the answer from Lil Diamond before sending the evidence. The EU Commission have complete monopoly on legislation. Thanks Lisbon Treaty (which no one asked for or wanted)

Yes. Please show me your source for claiming the UK ( or any other country) can't

That is all we need to do. You've admitted we can propose an amendment, Thank you. We're getting somewhere

Now, please show me some sources.

edit: I do have a life, you know. I can't be posting on here all day as some members seem to do.

It doesn't take a minute to answer a simple question does it?

My friend, it's all fun and games. Please don't take it so seriously. We all have other things going on! The subject was initiating legislation, please do not move the goalposts. We can and I have always claimed that we can propose an amendment.

    Anyway:

    https://europa.eu/european-union/eu-law/decision-making/procedures_en

It's all there, on the official EU website. The wording is very clever on the official website to avoid words such as 'monopoly' and using terms like 'only the EU Commission can initiate legislation'.

In the case you cannot be bothered to read it all, here is a direct link to the legislation process, again on the EU website:

    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/about-parliament/en/powers-and-procedures/legislative-powers

You'll notice this line - 'A Member of the European Parliament, working in one of the parliamentary committees, draws up a report on a proposal for a ‘legislative text’ presented by the European Commission, the only institution empowered to initiate legislation.'

Here is another just for giggles:

Yep, they've got it well and truly sewn up. How I loathe them - how I loathe all bureaucrats. Especially Tusk!!

No names, no pack drill here, but some people are more obsessed with the 'freedom of movement of foreigners' issue than the dire implications for all of us of Brexit.
