Both the state of Illinois and the City of Chicago have been Democrat for years, in the case of Chicago decades. How exactly did the Republicans manage to destroy Chicago when they don't run anything. Democrats have controlled the aldermanships, councils members, school boards, comptrollers, county execs etc. virtually uncontested for decades and have had free reign to do whatever they wanted to do. How the hell are republicans responsible for an area they don't even control. You make the most idiotic arguments that a two year with a pop up book and some crayons could discredit with a dissertation in less than five minutes.

In a way. The black community is afraid of the thugs. Afraid of their own kids and of the gangs. They don't come forward as witnesses---because of fear and because of peer pressure from within the black community which seems to hold some contempt for police. These types of things don't get willing witnesses. Cops are frustrated and can't close a murder case, and assault because witnesses or those people who have information refuse to come forward. So--yes... that is supporting the thugs and their crimes..

It's not that simple, actually. 1 in 2 blacks were in poverty during the Depression yet this level of criminality didn't exist. Your next step would be to blame "racism", but in the early 60's when things were worse for blacks on that front, this level of criminality still didn't exist.

The left's welfare policies destabilized the black community. It allowed men to abandon their families and responsibilities because they knew that the Government would take care of them. It incentivized welfare recipients to have more children in order to receive a bigger monthly welfare check. Over 70% of black children are now born into single parent households, usually with the father being MIA. This number used to be around 20-25%. There is a direct correlation between single parent households and gang membership, as children seek protection and guidance that they otherwise do not receive. From there, the criminality isn't far behind.

Hispanics have a similar percentage of their population living below the poverty line, and they do not commit as much crime as blacks. Hispanics are also more likely to drop out of High school than blacks, and less likely to graduate from college.

Blaming poverty for black crime just simply doesn't work.

As I recall, it was under Nixon that the rules were changed so that a family could not receive most forms of public assistance if there was an able-bodied male in the household. Is it hard for anybody with an IQ above room temp to figure out what that leads to?

 

Any statistics that show minorities in a negative light is racist and lies. You didn't know that a problem can't be fixed until people actually identify the problem. A bigger problem is tha the people in charge don't want anyone to know. Just blame some random factor and everyone feels better. Sad.
