A vaccine would be pointless if your cold turns out to be the coronavirus

Potentially, I'll do what my doctor request....but considering I am not in either of the risky groups, I don't see the need for it at this point. It's pretty rare and unlikely I'll get it, let alone die from it.

You are exactly right. Most of the tests will be used as surveillance, to test people who had close contact with one person who tested positive. That is how the spread will be mitigated.

That is not saying that everyone is supposed to go out and get tested. That would swamp the system and prevent people who need appointments for all sorts of health reasons from being served.

The doctor won't request you to have the vaccine if you already have the virus!

Not sure. I’ll have to wait and see. I don’t expect to be elderly for sometime, so don’t see myself getting it volunteering

Not sure of what? I am 100% sure that no doctor will tell you to get the vaccine if you already have the virus!

Actually, it's an insult to stereotype a group of people as not knowing what tests or vaccines are for based on political preference. Good thing a viral epidemic is not a partisan issue. :)

The "poorly educated" definitely have no clue that surviving the virus is the equivalent of having the vaccine.

As I recall your criminal IMPOTUS embraced that stereotype and said that he loved them.

I can only go on what posters write on this forum. Several posters have shown that they don't know what a vaccine is for and they have all been supporters of Trump

You're not sure whether your doctor would recommend you to have the vaccine if you already have the virus? You better get a new doctor!

While others suggested that we don't have enough tests because 8 million people live in New York, as if everyone should be tested. That's the opinion of some, but that's not realistic or practical....or necessary.

    This is the plan:

Who should be tested for COVID-19?

The CDC recommends that anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, returning from a Centers for Disease Control-designated “Level 2” or “Level 3” advisory area, or who has been in contact with someone who is suspected or confirmed of having the coronavirus within the last 14 days, should be tested.

From there, we will proactively test contacts of people who do test positive.

For everyone else, know your own risk and take precautions. Stay home if you're sick. If you live in an area with community spread, stock up on food and water in case you get locked down by the government.

I've never gotten the flu shot either. Coronavirus may be more contagious and more lethal but we really don't know that until the dust settles a bit. If COVID-19 does continue to cycle annually and if it is more deadly than the annual flu bug, I would consider that vaccine in a year or two when we have one available.

"The commander of U.S. Army Europe, along with several staff members, may have been exposed to COVID-19 during a recent conference," McCarthy said in the statement. "Out of an abundance of caution and following recommended protocols, he and others potentially affected are self-monitoring and working remotely to fulfill their command duties and responsibilities."

That's the Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy.

Dirty Donnie better move into an isolation ward. I can think of a few Federal prisons that could accommodate him.
