Denny's adopts gender identity restroom policy

I am happy to hear your hygiene is good! I never once mentioned violence in solving this . I suppose if the lady looks like a man I could except it , no I will except it , I really have no problem with gays or transgender and the solution may be on a case by case basis . I think children should be allowed to be children and Homosexuals and transgender should not force themselves into to these small person's life ,

I have not been in a female oriented restroom, as far as I know, for years. I woudl imagine they do not have the troughs that the men's restrooms do. If someone identifies as a woman and wants to go take a leak int he women's restroom, who really cares?

The things that folks, such as Denny's in the article, get worked up about seems a bit silly to me.

But my point is so many people, present company excluded, seem to make such a large deal out of things that really don;t seem too big to me. I mean, if I person was born a man and identifies as a woman wants to go drop a deuce in the ladies restroom, who cares? I think we as Americans read into this stuff too much. It is a bathroom. Other than the odd perv, what goes on in the toilet is really rather non sexual.

 

It is because it is Different TFM , when there is change people tent to fight it .

 

Just seems silly to me. I don't know. I understand your point, but maybe it is just that I grew up in a county in California where there was always a large queer population, and we just did not care one way or another what folks did with their genitals.

What does that mean?

If a child sees me in the grocery store does that constitute forcing myself into a small persons life? What about when I need to go to my daughters school and a lot of kids see me? Or if I go to her soccer games or an endless list of others activities, just living my life like everyone else where children will see me. Basically I should not leave my house and be banned from any place children might see me? Is that what you are implying? Yet you say that you don't have a problem with us. But you do.

 

I was actually wondering about this to. What if a guy feigns being transgender and when the bathroom's empty enough, attacks a lady? Sometimes, I'm not really sure on this issue. I mean, if they're going to be girls at heart. However, if you do something like this, you leave the women open to sexual assault from transgender pretenders. I believe in fair treatment for gays, lesbians, and transgenders, but this seems like it crossed the line. The line where it steps on the rights of the women. I wouldn't blame any woman who stops going to Denny's because of this. Hell, I'd recommend going in with somebody else (preferably a family member, family friend, or someone you know in general) as much as possible.

 

No I am not saying any of that , first of all I have no right to tell you / ask or demand you restrict your movement , I am basically against the use of a lady's room by a Man , if you have been changed into a woman then use the woman's room by all means . when The thread first started I had a vison on someone pissing at a urinal with the skirt hiked up but then I realised my thinking was skewwed , womans rooms are stalls as pointed out by TFM so my positioned changed to the rooms should me clearly marked as UNISEX .

 

Pretending to be trans is not going to give them a get out of jail free card if they assault someone or otherwise act inappropriately and break the law and it does not leave women more open to sexual assault. Crime still crime and the consequences have not changed.

A sexual predator is going to to do what they do regardless of policies like this, and Denny's bathrooms are no more or less safe (or bearable) then they ever were.

 

That's my misgiving about allowing gender identity bathrooms -- A restroom, especially for a woman is a pretty vulnerable place to be. You can't really run that fast with you pants about your ankles, and frankly it's a place where a woman should be able to do her business without fearing that someone in that restroom is faking a gender identity in order to get a victim.

Women usually go to the facillities in pairs anyway, but this is going to make things worse.

Just make unisex bathrooms. I don't mind peeing at a urinal with women present.

 

I have enough problems with cutesy bathroom signs with just two options. Please don't do anything that increase the number of options.

At a BBQ restaurant near us, for a while, they got a bit too clever.

The men's room said "Cowgirls, Over Thar --->" with an arrow pointing to the women's room, and the women's room said the reverse.

Something like 2 dozen people a day were going into the wrong one.
