That may be. I have an Uncle, and his children, who owns a car dealership in Kansas City. He seems to do well. But, statistically people in Oregon, and the rest of the West Coast does better, much better. Average wages are higher. Starting small businesses is easy. We have a top of the line health care system that is accessible to all. We have one if the best park systems in the country, as well as one of the most used library systems.

It is easier to get an abortion here than in any place in America. There are organizations with funds available to help any woman quickly and easily get an abortion regardless of her ability to pay for it. It is linked with a sister effort to ensure that every woman, regardless of her ability to pay for it, gets the assistance she needs when diagnosed with breast cancer.

There is s strong hipster culture and with that things like a robust microbrewery industry that has gone national. We also have legalized marihuana. Here in Portland, one can do with impunity what would get one as much as ten years in the lock-up in some of the more conservative states.

There are regular, annual cultural/community events. Beer fests, Hemp fests, March for science and display/educational booths. Art galleries and shows on the parks. Concerts in the park, free to all, as well as movies - free popcorn and all. It is a community that is involved.

Quite a bit of what has been achieved in Oregon, and Portland, is because over the decades, in the spirit of letting states experiment, the federal government has given us waivers. It has been a statewide effort from both Republicans and Democrats.

For instance we can boast having the best, most secure, most fair election system with the greatest participation rate in the country. Washington and Colorado have begun similar systems with promising results.

But the thing is, Patriot Prayer, and much of the Trump world, are not the same as those Republicans that helped build Oregon into the bright blue gem that it is. They seem intent on destroying what we have, all the while telling us conservative Christian ideology is better. We can clearly see it consistently runs in second place when we look at the numbers.

 

At least you have a handful of Hollywood "stars", and people wearing pink pussyhats screeching at the sky we need freeeshit for everybody.

Portland is pretty green. Both in terms of the environment and in terms of everyone's favorite herb. Also, I suppose one could include the green of money as our economy is popping.

The green from the other side seems to be of a different nature.

 

Even considering the violence in South Chicago, one is more likely to be a victim of a crime in any of the Deep South states than in Illinois.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, which is dominated by Democrats, we have some of the lowest crime rates in the country.

Plenty of leftist ANTIFA violence has been occurring across the nation. But Right of Center violence in comparison? Hardly any of that at all. In all fairness he has the right to complain about it but he doesn't have the right to make them stop nobody in Portland does.

It seems like they're walking on a fine line between what is legal and public Optics.

If the Portland government bans a group from coming to the city they are going to be absolutely in violation of the First Amendment. I'm hoping they do I imagine the proud boys Patriot prayer and all those groups are hoping they do to.

The reason why is that it will finally reveal that they would prefer to have agreement over Liberty. And quite frankly that would finish them off.
