Yeah, I know. That was part of my post also when I said "That's the way it was even when Congress approved it as part of the last stimulus. Trump's just continuing what was already agreed to previously." Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I don't know what the conditions were under the last stimulus so can't help ya as to why you didn't get anything previously. (I'm assuming by "didn't get anything previously" you mean that your taxes were still taken out?)

How much would you want to bet that they made that initial proposal that they passed with that extra 1 trillion knowing that they would strip it out while leaving in key things that they wanted just so that they could try and claim "look! we tried to compromise!!!". Its going to go over real well when people see that nobody is paying into the medicare or social security fund who is working and nobody is paying into the medicare/ social security system who is not working either. I worked under the table for three years as a kid. Got zero SS credit for some very valuable working time so I will have to work longer when my body is no longer as capable. Yes, both sides had pork in their propositions. I have already stated that I am against Trump doing this EO. And in the past I have been against pork in any and all bills. That includes this stimulus. No matter the party. Are you willing to denounce the Dems for their pork added to this stimulus?

 

I agree with the decision to suspend payroll taxes but only because its better than nothing. Most people aren't unemployed and really don't need this tax benefit. We should be focusing our stimulus on people who have lost their jobs and struggling businesses. And most importantly, we need plan for getting out of this crisis get our economy going again.
