West Point has turned out a number of scoundrels and traitors. Pompeo and Powell are but two.

The Academy has changed its mission statement numerous times during the three centuries it has been in existence. Like I said...manufactured outrage. Carry on

And your assertions, mere personal opinion, wipe everything else out? You just had to get something bad to say about West Point in there? Why is that?

Tell me do you believe there are institutions of the size and history as West Point which have never produced a scoundrel or traitor to which you limit your admiration? Can you list me a few of these?

The article is clear enough and the link leads you to it in it's entirity (that posting limit here)

It explains it all, what was wrong with the mission statement that they had to eliminate Duty, Honor, Country from it?

West Point is something above just "people" as is it's MISSION STATEMENT and to whom it applies, I don't know many "people" whose job it is to put their lives on the line in DUTY to their country. Too bad you DON'T care about those who do and whether they should do it to defend their country with honor or just fight for "army values" whatever that is supposed to mean here.

Should those in the Army fight for Duty, Honor, Country or some vague "Army Values" as set by whomever is the current leadership of the Army? What should be their highest calling, the Country or the Army?

Superintendent Lt. Gen. Steve Gilland changed it. Should the mission of our soldiers be to fight for the Country or the values of the current Army leadership, the "Army Values" which is replacing it?

I dont think you can fairly equate not caring about a cadets schools motto with not caring about those who serve our country lol.

He is the leader of West Point and yes the military in the United States is under CIVILIAN leadership which is a FUNDAMENTAL principle of our country.

ROFLMAO talk about teeing one up for me...........................EXACTLY...................what ARE "Army Values" which is replacing Duty, Honor, COUNTRY in the mission statement. Who decides that? Do you want our soldiers fighting to defend the Army and the military or the COUNTRY?

So you tell me what are these "Army Values" and if you can't then how can we ask our young soldiers to die for it.

JFC, we the people elect our leaders who then control the military….

I literally posted them in the previous post and they are :

    • Loyalty. Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit and other Soldiers. ...
    • Duty. Fulfill your obligations. ...
    • Respect. Treat people as they should be treated. ...
    • Selfless Service. Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before your own. ...
    • Honor. ...
    • Integrity. ...
    • Personal Courage

Why do you just keep making things up to fain outrage against….
