Never mind the excuse of the Sinai - the real question is whether the Egyptian Army will be faced down by the Muslim Brotherhood and the President, or whether plans for a military coup are already being put into place. The Sinai gave the excuse for the removal of the generals - what would be a good pretext for a coup, Abu Sina?

And that is a huge problem.
I always thought that the goverments were stupid, and that the "man in the street" could read through the lies and have reasonable opinions.
I dont expect them to be zionists, as i am not expected to believe in pan arabism.
But when I read posts here, it is getting more and more obvious that it's not just the governments.

The hate is too much, what good is a peace agreement against that? forget it bro, I completely changed my mind, the problem is not the Palestinians they are just stuck in the middle, too much BS now to think of "peace", in the face of these radicals all we can do is fight. maybe after the next war...maybe.

Alright, Egypt can go from military rule into Islamic dictatorship. Sounds great for the women and minorities.

Egypt’s newly elected Egyptian president has ordered his defence minister and chief of staff to retire. Sources say President sacks these two people over the issue of militants killed 16 Egyptian soldiers a week ago at a border post with Israel in Sinai.

Democracy is nothing more than mob rule. T Jefferson made that clear. Spreading democracy is a farce to sway public support. It doesn't do much good, when the ruling majority think the rest are unequal and deserve second class citizenry. For the second class anyway. I'm sure the majority loves it.

Egypt just got approved for a loan of 200 million dollars from the World Bank for work and food...
I suggest they make more babies and go hungry for the next century. Sixty five - Seventy years ago the population of Egypt was 15 - 20 million inhabitants, to day they are 80 millions,,, I deduct that Egypt pastime is making babies and cannot produce enough to feed them.

Actually that's our problem in a nutshell, the dirt poor in this country (*)(*)(*)(*) without condoms having families with an average of 4 to 5 children with no way to feed support or even educate them. Meanwhile the middle and upper classes have one or two children per family. See what's wrong with this picture.

Reality says he's underlining Egypt's return to civilian rule from American-sponsored military dictatorship. (Still being paid by the US not to attack Israel.)

To every problem , there's a solution, some nations havent found it yet, however ,

I recal something like this in the bible which I'm sure our resident bible believers ,might not object to , even if they dont practice it.

"And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein."

aka "Go forth and multiply " . (wink)

I just read the daily press state dept briefing of Aug 13- apparently the US govt knew all about this change and it was discussed during Clinton's visit in July so not sure it was the killing of the 16 soldiers in the Sinai.

Indeed yes. This military change was apparently discussed during Sec of State Clinton's visit to Cairo in July or at least that is what was stated in the Daily Press Briefing of Aug 13 by the DOS.
