Oh! Now your objection shifted. It's not enough for illegal aliens to bring in billions in productivity to the country. They HAVE to be engineers and scientists.

The article linked in the OP doesn’t mention the positions being filled by those with severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities.
I dunno…as long as they aren’t being put in positions directly linked with safety then why should anyone care?

The problem is nothing in the FAA statement said ANYTHING about those who are mentally or physically disabled. The reason for the American with Disabilities Act is that certain people like you don't want diversity. You want people we ho look, think, and act like you do. That is the law, but the choice is still there as long ad the choice is based on objective standards, nor arbrirary standards such ad in the past. For instance, there were signs in NYC that read "no dogs or Irish allowed." We also had separate bathrooms for blacks AND whites throughout much of the South. Today, if you are 50 and over, there is age discrimination by employers. There had been in the past single women emwete discriminated against because single women were a,detriment whereas married women weren't. Thus it is not forced, but it is the law.

The first priority of life is not social justice, it's the ability of the society to work well enough we can afford to include qualities of life such as social justice. That does not work when the values are inverted.

Here's the quote, you figure it out:

"The Federal Aviation Administration is actively recruiting workers who suffer "severe intellectual" disabilities, psychiatric problems and other mental and physical conditions under a diversity and inclusion hiring initiative spelled out on the agency’s website.

"Targeted disabilities are those disabilities that the Federal government, as a matter of policy, has identified for special emphasis in recruitment and hiring," the FAA’s website states. "They include hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism."

Everything you have said in this thread indicates that you don't think people with mental or intellectual disabilities should ever be hired.

    That leaves us three possibilities:

1- That the government just pays for their living expenses at taxpayer's expense.

2- The mid 20th century German "final solution".

3- You just didn't think this through. And you claiming you do other people's thinking is just projection. Because we'd actually be doing the thinking you should have done before opening this thread for YOU.

    Can you provide a fourth?

You could not be more wrong! The first priority of a nation IS social justice. At least THIS nation. It's in the Preamble of the Constitution. This country was FOUNDED by people who escaped social injustice. We became independent BECAUSE the founders sought social justice. The ability of the society to work well is a means to obtain social justice.

Your position is based on the premise of what will benefit YOU personally. That is bigotry. It's not an insult. It's just the definition.

What would you do with them, put them in an isolated building or maybe worse. People with disabilities are everywhere and working.

But you see this as accomplished by feeding the people fish that you haven't the ability to catch- let alone see the value of teaching them HOW to fish for themselves.
NO person is happy when they are dependent on others for basic needs of life. That diminishes them, and it's an insult to humanity to enable people to continue to fail.
As you typically do, you are trying to make a case on one facet of an issue while ignoring all the rest.

The objective of the Constitution is to make America a working society where all can have opportunity, not a welfare agency. Without a working society, you can't afford to provide welfare or support. Those things are a fringe benefit that is a byproduct of a thriving nation.

Plant the tree. Nurture the tree. Eventually, it will bear much fruit, and all can benefit. Unless some jackass comes along and decides that because he wants firewood today, it's OK to cut the tree down because it's convenient.

Are you honestly believing that folks with intellectual disabilities are being hired and trained as air traffic controllers? Or do you think that the only employees of the FAA are air traffic controllers?

I would not put anything past the current rulers of the Democrat Party. Identity politics is far more important them than doing the job properly.

    Of course you wouldn't

Your entire world view is built on the premise "liberals = bad"

I've said it before, Joe Biden could personally find the cure to all cancers and your response would be how he put all those oncologists out of work.

No, progressive (socialist, communist) = bad. Some liberals are very concerned about progressive, one party policies.

Time was supporting Israel was a given for Democrats. Now it’s dicey.

Virtually everything the Biden administration does = failed or bad.

Somehow I don't think you have a problem with Trump who, by every objective standard, was far worse than Biden.

They are both bad, but I’ll take Trump over the senile, bribed crook.

Biden is the worst president ever. At least previous worst president, James Buchanan, acted on behalf of some Americans, the slave owners. Biden puts the interest all American citizens behind illegal aliens. His family has also taken bribes which has affected his policies. He is a crook, a traitor and senile. Therefore Biden is the worst.

However- the purpose of this agency is not to provide jobs like a social service agency. It is to make it safe for you to get on an airplane.
If you can't keep your primary purpose in focus, you have sabotaged your own objective.

Next time you need brain surgery, we can send all the people needing jobs in to help your doctor. Or be your doctor. That way, you will know, if you still have the ability to think, that you have helped people in need get a paycheck. No doubt, that will be more important than the outcome. Right?

So does that mean you BELIEVE they are actually putting intellectually impaired individuals in roles of air traffic controlling? To say you 'wouldn't put anything past' anything really isn't a conviction.

So are you one of the folks that believes the FAA is hiring intellectually impaired or challenged individuals in positions of air traffic control?

Mentally impaired people as air traffic controllers? The Democrats aren’t that dump yet, but they are progressing. They will put incompetent people in key positions. Biden, Harris and the Biden cabinet are prime examples.

Years ago Dorris Kerns Goodman wrote a book about the Lincoln administration, Team of Rivals. The Biden cabinet is a Team of Incompetents. Every week the Biden cabinet members hold a contest to see which one can screw up the worst and make the news. Lloyd Austin is the latest.

Once again, you think every employee of the FAA is directly involved in keeping air travel safe?

I'm one of those people who believe what they said. While there has been a policy to allow a wide range of impaired persons for a long time, that means the door is open when the situation is applicable. Now they are pushing it, shifting to the DEI mindset. While they aren't saying those people will have air-traffic control jobs, there are many jobs there where public safety is at risk with what is done. A certification process for example, a paperwork approval- can allow weakness that can become a disaster. We must be able to trust these agencies. We must be able to trust the politicians that oversee them- and that is no longer possible or prudent.

"Biden's FAA is actively recruiting people with ‘severe intellectual’ and ‘psychiatric’ disabilities as part of 'Diversity and Inclusion' plan
The FAA said it "seeks qualified candidates from as many sources as it can. "

The link below is one of dozens of news agencies reporting the story in that fashion.
    https://thepostmillennial.com/faa-i...ities-as-part-of-diversity-and-inclusion-plan

One has to consider these things in the light of the current wave of rejecting common sense and long standing guidelines. There is a latitude in the policies of hiring, including disabled people, that relies on those who make the decisions to always place the objective of their agency first. That is being abused far and wide today. The result for example is boys walking into girls showers, and schools allowing it. People who are mentally struggling with their identity so severely they think they can escape themselves by becoming the opposite sex; making irreversible changes that only add to the extent of their challenges. There are places where such people can work without risk to others- and a lot of places they cannot. A person with limitations can only perform in a job with limitations that are compatible with their personal issues.

The current political mindset seems to think that can be ignored, and we already have a substantial number of people in positions they were never suited to.
You can't lower the bar and maintain the standard at the same time. Wise people know that- foolish ones do not. Foolish people vote too, and when a society declines to include too many of them, we start to see nonsense presented and argued as common sense. It's going on right now, everyday. Apparently, you have chosen to not notice that.

    Here's the issue.

You have presented ZERO evidence that any of the people recruited with "severe intellectual and 'psychiatric disabilities'" are going to serve in any position having anything to do with travel safety. And yet that's the story you are running with. You are accusing the Biden administration of putting safety second and diversity first....WITH NO EVIDENCE.

Give us evidence and THEN we can discuss it. Until then all you are doing is fear mongering in the hopes of scoring political points against Democrats in general and the Biden administration specificallly.

So the guy who sits at a desk and processes paperwork stamps a certification and passes it on. I have a son who was an A&P, a federally licensed airframe-powerplant aviation mechanic, who did final inspection of jet assemblies for a major manufacturer. He discovered they had been inserting portions of a mount for a tail assembly backward in a drilling jig, and that allowed only 7 of the designed 12 bolts that attached it to line up, and they had been using it that way. They had already produced many aircraft with that defect. None had failed, but this created the potential for an extremely expensive recall. Management asked him to sign off on it anyway. He refused, they fired him. With a little creative adjustments in paperwork, they made an effort to recertify the mistake as still passing the tests. If that has slipped past the FAA, those planes would still be flying. It didn't, and the FAA did what it is supposed to do. Just a piece of paper saying no problem, it's just as good as the approved version.... that didn't get past the desk of an FAA desk employee.

There's no rational reason to compromise an agency like this at all. There are thousands of places that aren't charged with such critical responsibilities.
