So that is not defamatory? It is not an attempt to hurt someone's reputation for personal gain? Keep thinking about it.

You can't defame yourself and I'm not sure why you think you can. Maybe think less about it?

I agree. I didn't think we were talking about self defamation. I wasn't.

So do you plan on having the decency to admit that you were wrong and apologize?

Or now that I have proven you wrong, are you just going to not respond?

They don't qualify under those laws.
Examine the actual statutes you're considering and you'll find definitions for advertising that don't include "vote for me for office".

There was no false promise -- he came through. Upon his legitimate election, Biden effectively excised the primary cancer of humankind in the person of Donald J. Trump. (..who I believe to be the antichrist)

The point I was trying to convey is that the legality of an action doesn't change if someone dies. The more severe an outcome the more severe a charge or sentencing could be, but a legal activity doesn't become illegal if someone dies.

Also, criminality is different than civil culpability. Those are also two different things. You may not be criminally liable, but you may have a civil responsibility.

So the guy can sit there and lie in your face and you claim to have a problem with lies but after he is proven to be a liar you just sit there and make excuses and go off on some unrelated tangent.

So it's obvious that you don't care so much about the lies as you do more about the person who's telling you the lies.

Some people would rather hear comfortable lies than the hard reality

That settles it then. You, Jack Hays, have so-to-speak 'won' this thread. Congratulations, I concede.

[proviso: um ... in all 50 States? ..if not then we can still (hopefully) jail some of the un-fortuitously-placed offenders; so I guess the debate continues after all. (This has been an Edit.)]

No court in the land wants to arbitrate the truth or falsity of political claims.

I mean FOX just settled a major case and is about to lose another one. As the largest member of the MSM it kind of invalidates your point.

If they couldn’t push lies and conspiracy they would never win another election in this country.

I've essentially conceded wholeheartedly to member Jack Hays's rejoinder that most false advertising laws explicitly exclude statements related to political campaigns and electioneering.

Maybe, but I'd have to know the details before I can comment accurately.

The “abortion until birth” concerns me less than the “abortion post birth” lie

No no. You don't slither away from this. Rudy faces multiple litigations both civil and criminal and ZERO of them are for false advertising. Don't tease us mercilessly fellow. We aren't your puppets on a string. Calm down and be more specific about that to which you refer in the post. Thanks.
