This. There is essentially no bar for "compelling evidence", so any/all deaths qualify as COVID deaths, which is how the left wants it because they can then use the inflated numbers as one of their political footballs, nevermind if the numbers have no basis in reality.

The person had chronic heart disease and 5 heart attacks over 20 years, starting at age 60. When they had their final heart attack, they also had a mild dry cough and a 100 degree fever. So. Covid death. No doubt about it.

    Hang on

You just finished telling me that you weren’t claiming that the 90,000 deaths were made up

Is that the case in all 90,000 deaths?

Is it possible for a test to return a false negative?

And this has been discussed on another thread

Comes down to two different ways of counting deaths

OK, then maybe you have not seen the CDC data. Here it is again:

    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm

    They still make weekly reports.

So, that is a yes, the test can return a false negative.

So if a patient dies immediately after their roommate died with Covid-19 and the patient dies of covid-like symptoms, why is that improper to include as a covid-death?

The discussion is about some deaths being counted as covid when they are not. You keep posting that the claim is that all 90,000 deaths are fiction. Please reread the thread if needed and respond accordingly.

Ok, then on the same line, a test can return a false positive.

Nothing is 100%, but that doesn't mean all deaths of elderly people with illness is covid, as per my OP.

Setting aside that the same "there is no bar" for that standard ignores the fact that doctors must make judgment calls every single day and it is the medical examiners and their employers who face potential civil and criminal penalties for committing fraud...

You want to argue that inflated numbers is a political football, but there are many more compelling reasons for politicians to undercount covid deaths.

Totally agree and there are always going to miscounts and mislabeling for causes of death. These things are judgment calls in many instances. But there are a lot of reasons to believe that covid-deaths are currently being undercounted as opposed to over-counted.

Using your logic, we'd might as well go ahead and claim everyone in America has COVID and every death is COVID, if we can't trust the tests that say a person doesn't have it. You'd fit well filling out death certificates for the Democrats.

Right now it can be financially advantageous ----as well as politically advantageous, for Democrats---- to mislabel deaths as COVID. Which makes a wise person suspicious of any death counts, as it stands.

If we are to be able to trust our statistics, or gain any useful insight from them, first we must be able to trust they are based on correct information. Falsely attributing deaths to COVID doesn't benefit anyone (except maybe Democrats, as they politicize this thing, but screw them, we need accurate information.)

    What's next?
Car wreck ---- he was probably delirious from COVID so he wrecked
Suicide ---- he killed himself because he knew he had COVID
Lifelong smoker with COPD ---- his cough was from COVID
Heart attack ---- his heart was probably weakened by COVID
Drowning ---- he had diminished lung capacity from COVID

You are not using my logic, you are fabricating bullshit and claiming that is my logic.

Yes. One is you fabricating bullshit because of an inability or an unwillingness to actually address what I said and the other is what I said.

    I didn't say anything about 90,000.

CDC is showing that a little fewer than 37,000 more people have died between January 1 and April 25th in 2020 than during the same time period in 2019. John's Hopkins was showing over 54,000 Covid deaths on April 25th. The true number of deaths with or from Covid was more likely closer to the 35k-40k actual increase in deaths.

I can't help you if you have to dismiss logic as "bullshit" because it doesn't fit with your politicized preconceived notions. You're skirting perilously close to personal attacks ---- one of the surest signs you're forfeiting the debate. White flag accepted ;)

Even today, after Colorado has reduced their COVID death count by nearly 23%, the World meter is still listing ALL deaths as COVID.

    upload_2020-5-21_9-58-57.png

Colorado tracks these separately after they got caught fabricating numbers.
    https://covid19.colorado.gov/data/case-data

    upload_2020-5-21_9-59-53.png

We will never truly know what the real number is as even the 1,001 deaths in Colorado, they can't go back to those patients and determine if they will actual COVID deaths or death from other causes.

Statistically, however, if we assumed that all these COVID deaths are at a minimum of 23% inflated, the real number would be around 70+K deaths but I also think 23% is WAY conservative.
