I am only talking about people who are Morbidly Obese who get Food Cards.

A healthy individual should be able to buy what they want with such a card....those weighing in at 400 lbs plus should not.

I believe we should just preach abstinence and just saying "no". Too much social spending on micromanaging Commerce instead of merely fixing Standards only increases our Tax burden.

The original "Food Stamp Program" wasn't about food stamps, it was about bringing farming equipment to the Appalachia's.

That was completely ok in my opinion, these are people who did everything they could to survive so we're gonna help them out a bit.

Yeah 400 sounds right, I'm 6'7'' 240 now but my junior year in HS i was 350 and wasn't fat. (Steroids at the time were my friend)

If I can stay under 400lbs on steroids, any average person can stay under 400lbs naturally.

Liberals can rationalize their creation of every kind of welfare giveaway program, going all the way back to the days of FDR. And I do not doubt for a minute that in this food-stamp program they "marble-caked" in farm subsidies, too.

As far as "helping people out" -- yes, that is very commendable work for CHARITIES. It is not, and should not be, a legitimate function of government at any level unless national security is involved (free food after a natural disaster, etc.). Bottom line: the biggest mistake we have ever made in the United States -- a mistake that will ultimately lead to our further decay and ultimate dissolution -- is allowing people who routinely take government welfare to continue to be empowered to VOTE.

The "tail wags the dog", and as the tail gets bigger and bigger, all the extra "wagging" eventually breaks the dog's back....

Its the taxpayers money and channeled through the government so they can set any rules they want so why not set fair limits require a class on using coupons and looking for bargains using the Food Stamps and on nutrition on a budget then limit what you can get with them at least take off the list:
junk food, sugary ice cream, more expensive meats (higher quality ground beef would be good and poultry) and bottled water (it comes out of the tap) but focus on at least food that can be considered food with an eye on a budget view of this.
