You act like someone that close cannot be a threat.

Let me stand 5 feet away, and back up, and see how quickly I can reverse directions to kick you in the balls and then pull a knife.

speculation about a hidden weapon does not justify the use of deadly force.

you have to KNOW they have a weapon.

That has yet to be seen. A jury is not going to listen to your opinion, or mine for that matter.

Why would the guy on the ground be worried about being the victim of aggravated assault when hundreds of people are murdered every year with just hands and feet? Why do you ignore that a grown man can still be lethally dangerous when unarmed?

You keep saying that. We keep telling you that doesn't mean that the threat is over. The assaulter was still within easy assault distance.

Can fists and feet be considered lethal weapons?

the law says that if you point a gun at an attacker and they begin to retreat, you are supposed to let them retreat.

Dude you don't know the laws, or case law, I suspect your arguments are feelz based.

The statutes of the state of Florida do not actually specify such.

Exactly. People with a certain political bent (plus zero training and an unrealistic view of the world) don't understand how the real world works, or how quickly a person trying to act cooperative and submissive can launch a murderous assault. Someone said you couldn't shoot someone in the back... but there are lots of instances of people suffering fatal gunshot wounds in the back and the person shooting them being exonerated. I personally know a Federal agent who was pursuing a man who pointed his gun over his shoulder and fired. The agent returned fire and killed him, and both of his shots struck the fleeing criminal in the back. No charges filed; at least partially because a security camera clearly showed the bad guy firing wildly over his shoulder right before the agent fired the fatal shots. The agent was actually subsequently decorated for valor for stopping the bad guy's rampage.

But some people are obsessive control freaks wanting to force the world to conform to their personal biases... and real life just doesn't work that way.

If the "Dude" you're talking to is Ronstar, I suspect your suspicions are 100% accurate.
