Well the 3.4% figure was entirely accurate for the figures it was specifically identified as measuring by the WHO (number of confirmed infections and number of confirmed deaths worldwide). It is distinct from any wider estimates of the overall mortality rate relying on a "hunch" about the number of unreported infections. Both sets of figures can be correct and valid in context. Calling it a "false number" was factually wrong, though I suspect that was largely due to his ignorance of the specifics rather than anything malicious.

The better, more precise and meaningful number is infected case fatality rate, measured at hospital admission.

Yes they will do autopsies. They already do to the 7000+ Americans when needed who die daily. They can handle these deaths as well.

There is likely an age discrepancy favoring elderly to children relative to the genereral population, but that is about all, and that discrepancy would favor a slightly higher mortality rate on the ship.
