    Yes - THAT'S THE TOPIC.

    You're engaging in irrelevant/fallacious derailing.

When you condemn the US, it is invariably being compared to some other country. In this case, we were in a war with Japan. Japan started it and certainly was more brutal than the US. Are you afraid to acknowledge that fact? Or are you just one those who would rather not show the US as the good guys?

For that matter, you could be accused of derailing. The issue was not whether it was terrorism. The issue was whether it was necessary.

The nation of Japan was committing numerous war crimes. It demonstrated no willingness to cease engaging in such, or continued hostilities, of its own volition. It was willing to field school-aged children to continue the killing if it ran out of able-bodied adults to push into service. The bombings of the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima were quite necessary to put an end to further conflict, and save lives in both nations. The nation of Japan should be thanking the united states for saving as many of its lives as it did through its actions. It has no grounds to being bitter or resentful.

Excuse me here but it sure sounds as if one poster above has decided there was nothing wrong with an attack on our military base --- American property --- and the loss of all those American lives in a single day --- when in fact we had no hostilities with Japan leading up to that and their attack was therefore one-sided and executed only after detailed planning. It was not incidental. This poster applauds that sort of treachery.

So to ignore they started it is to applaud their brutality and thereby condemn the U.S. for being a victim. We gave it back a thousandfold. They fully deserved it.

    Irrelevant/fallacious. Yes. Debatable. Irrelevant/fallacious. Ditto.

Nonsense. These were and are horrendous terrorism & unspeakable crimes against humanity. Such despicable acts are never "necessary."

But monsters like Hitler, Truman and bin Laden will always have their armies of apologists making their repulsive crimes possible.

Fallacious derailing nonsense. Ditto. Ditto, and ironic that defenders of terrorism regard others as treacherous.

Fallacious nonsense. Excusing/applauding horrendous terrorism/unspeakable crimes against humanity. Ditto.

You have just demonstrated your total disregard for historical truth or human decency, to support the attackers and not the victims. THEY can bomb from on high but the U.S. can not? Horse manure. Your entire premise is flawed and unsupportable.

Troll! Any moderator who sees how you have behaved in this thread would agree you have NOT done so in good faith.

Prove your claim they were about to surrender. You can't. That's your entire schtick here, to evade that answer.

Not any more irrelevant than calling the atomic bombings terrorist acts.

The discussion is about the decision, not whether it was a terrorist act.

The decision was whether to use the bomb and end the war or to invade the Japanese homeland and lose millions of lives, both Japanese and American.

Then perhaps the nation of Japan should have considered such more carefully, before it decided to launch an unprovoked, unjustified attack against the united states. Had they simply left the united states alone, they would not have been bombed as a result. The matter is truly that simple. Do not attack first, do not get hurt in response.

The ability to string random words together in a barely coherent manner does not indicate intelligence. At best it suggests some level of gibberish programming.

In short, simple, uncomplicated terms, a bot.

Then cease engaging in behavior that is indistinguishable from that of a cheaply programmed forum bot. Demonstrate the coherent ability to construct a coherent sentence that is devoid of such words.
