I never said that. You have not shown that I have ever insisted that same sex marriage rights only get restricted to gay people. You still have yet to prove that I did.

Here in America, per the 14th Amendment, NOBODY gets special rights unless EVERYBODY gets them. It's called "Equal Protection". Look it up.

And nowhere did I ever say that same sex marriage should only be restricted to homosexuals. Not one time. But do keep trying. You do make me feel so very important.

Homophobia IS BS (whether coded in one's thoughts or even into the law).

This isn't dancing... but YOU think it is. So be it.

That would require treating the married the same as the unmatched and does nothing for the arguments for gay marriage

I wouldnt be for that because if we had the technology Id engineer my kids to be bisexual. The trouble from homophobia is IMHO far less than the pleasure they could get if the second half of the population could be sexually attractive for them. And as far as I know, it is not proven that homosexuality is genetic, it may have to do with hormones or childhood environmental triggers (still doesnt mean it is a choice).

Agreed. Homophobia is a BS, made-up word. There exists no such medical condition. It is just a way to slander your opponents and has no psychological basis. An "irrational fear of homosexuals"...please.

    fear of gays....
    aversion to gays....

either way, he is right, homophobia is a made up term in order to slander a person who may oppose your views and you are upset that they do.

when in doubt, call your opponent a homophobe, no matter what to try and dismiss their argument that way. it's a bully tactic used to try and force acceptence by guilt.

Noone has ever liked to be called names in school. I was called a scribbler in school and I didn't think I was. So I just quit coloring and people quit calling me a scribbler. I didn't get better at coloring.... but it stopped the name calling.

People who yell "homophobe" are tryign to do the same thing.... silence the opposition whether or not they are truly a homophobe or what.

Opposing viewpoints is one thing, denying rights is another.

Then why not call people "right deniers"? Oh yeah, not inflammatory enough; that would just stick to the issue, rather than accusing others of mental illness. As such, it would be ineffective to use to bully and slander others into silence. Tactic noted.

The term applies and describes well-enough what it refers to.

Even if I grant your assumption, that being that marriage is a privilege, not a right (and for the record, I don't, and neither does the law), why do you want to deny it to homosexuals?

Nope- you're trying to deny rights. Marriage is a right, according to the Supreme Court. That includes everything that comes with it.

As for your "heterophobia" comment- I'm not the one trying to deny people rights.

Marriage to someone of the opposite sex is a right. Primarily because when those court desisions were made, heterosexual relations outside of marriage were illegal.

Your views are a product of your emotions and hormones. Mine the US Constitution.

We dont mind government using tax breaks and governmental entitlement to benefit society as a whole. Fewer children with single parents struggling to provide and care for their children and more children with the benefit of both their parents in the home.
I have a big problem with the government using tax breaks and governmental entitlements purely for the benefit of those who receive them. OR to help gays feel better about their homosexuality and the rest of society about them.

So what you're saying is that those homosexuals are icky, and we should shame them into either becoming heterosexual like a normal human being, or at the very least going back into the closet so we don't have to acknowledge their existence.

I am so grateful that people who think as you do are dying off. Your backwards way of thinking will be completely extinct within a generation.

Yeah, slowly but surely homosexual marriage occur. Nine states adopted it really all you need is the federal government to enforce full faith and credit on homosexual marriages then all bets are off
