If you refuse the vaccine, you don't matter. It's the people you infect that matter!

I didn't say the vaccine is not safe, I think people can decide that for themselves. My point was that walking around unvaccinated isn't infecting anyone until they actually have Covid. We can also be infected by someone who has been vaccinated. The vaccine doesn't guarantee that you won't get sick nor does being unvaccinated mean you will inevitably get sick. Or vote for Trump.

It’s well documented that alcohol has a negative effect on your immune system, and studies have linked excessive alcohol consumption to more severe respiratory infections. However, there’s no evidence that consuming a moderate amount of alcohol will impact the effectiveness of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Dietary Guidelines for America define a moderate amount of alcohol as two or less drinks per day for men and one drink or less per day for women.

Researchers have not yet examined the effects of heavy drinking or “binge drinking” on the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine. But to be on the safe side, it’s likely a good idea to avoid increasing your alcohol intake in the several days after getting a vaccine.

    Refusing the vaccine is un-American.
    https://www.reuters.com/business/ae...ployee-exemptions-vaccine-mandate-2021-09-22/
Sept 22 (Reuters) - United Airlines Inc (UAL.O) is facing claims that it unlawfully denied religious and medical exemptions from a requirement that employees receive COVID-19 vaccines after allegedly making it difficult for workers to apply for them.

Six United employees filed a class action in Texas federal court on Tuesday claiming that workers who sought exemptions from the vaccine mandate were subjected to intrusive inquiries about their medical conditions or religious beliefs, including a requirement that they obtain letters from pastors.

Chicago-based United in a statement said the lawsuit was without merit, and that it has seen an overwhelmingly positive response from employees since announcing its vaccine requirement last month. More than 97% of United's U.S.-based employees are vaccinated, the airline said.
    Something worth looking into.

There are two associations between alcohol and Covid vaccines. The first is the comparison of vaccination to all the other major factors that increase or decrease your likelihood of infection and severe disease. In this thread my point has been people have the right to do all kinds of things that increase the likelihood of infecting others besides not being vaccinated.

Alcohol consumption is just one behavior that makes an individual more likely to infect another person. I already linked you to a couple studies showing alcohol consumption leads to increased chances of infection and worse outcomes after infection based on physiological and behavioral effects of alcohol.

Beyond just alcohol consumption, we have to consider comorbidities for Covid that are a result of alcohol consumption (and other lifestyle choices). For example, almost 2/3 of hospitalizations for Covid are linked to preventable comorbidities.

We should also add in all the other comorbidities that are a result of lifestyle choices like preventable cancers, liver disease, and kidney disease. (There will be more on these later on when we get to the second association.)

It should be noted here that alcohol use is associated with all these comorbidities to varying degrees.

Not only do lifestyle choices make an individual more likely to have a bad outcome, conditions like obesity also increase the chance of infection (by almost 50%). Furthermore, infected obese individuals shed more virus and shed virus longer than healthy weight individuals. There is evidence other comorbidities delay viral clearance as well. So at the end of the day, individual lifestyle choices about diet, exercise, and alcohol consumption not only affect the individual, but increase the risk to others substantially as well. Not unlike not being vaccinated.

Now for the second relevant association between vaccination and alcohol consumption. A large share of immunocompromised individuals who do not mount a good immune response to vaccination have made choices that makes vaccination less efficacious. Cirrhosis of the liver and kidney disease are often the result of alcohol consumption. These are the people who have to receive transplants and subsequently do not respond well to vaccination because of anti rejection drugs etc. Also cancer patients who are in treatment do not benefit much from vaccination. Also, even obesity and poor diet make breakthrough infections more likely in the vaccinated, leading to further spread of the virus.

These people made choices earlier in life that led to vaccination not being efficacious for them. The public sentiment is sympathy for these people and contempt for the unvaccinated. But both are making lifestyle decisions for themselves that affect themselves and others. My point is wr can’t give one group freedom to choose what to put in their body but not the other. It’s illogical and unethical.

This is why I bring up the subject of alcohol and obesity etc. in these discussions. So people can see there are other ways to protect themselves besides just vaccination. Even the vaccinated are at further risk to themselves and others if they live unhealthy lifestyles after vaccination.

Im saddened the public was not informed of information like obesity making infection more likely etc. Forty percent of Americans gained an average of 29 pounds during the pandemic. Alcohol use skyrocketed. I’m certain we are seeing the results of this in the current wave of delta.

To be clear, I’m not criticizing the obese or the drinker or the sedentary. I’m just making two points. First, people should have the right to eat what they want, drink what they want, and inject or not inject what they want. Second, there are plenty of ways besides vaccination to protect yourself and others from Covid. We should recognize this before forcing people to do things.

If you don't know how much more likely then how can you possibly know if it's worth the risk?

True. If it's effective and proven to be so, There's no problem there.

The one hard truth about not getting this experimental treatment is that one cannot then suffer injury or death from the inoculation.

Where is your condemnation of Democrats that don't wear masks?

Your words ring hollow, insincere, and purely partisan, as there has been absolutely, positively zero accountability for Democrat politicians who violate mask mandates, especially Pelosi, who has violated the mask mandate multiple times. The root cause of the zero accountability can be chalked up to cultish hypocrisy or cognitive dissonance from Democrat voters, like yourself. Take your pick. But if you want people like me, the unvaccinated, to take this disease seriously, you need to put your money where your mouth is and throw these Democrats out. As with Newsom and Pelosi, both of whom have violated the mask mandates, they have faced the backlash of Democrat voters by being overwhelmingly voted back in, as the Democrat voters were unperturbed by their outright violations of the mitigation policies that you all are trying to force on the rest of us, claiming that those policies will eradicate the Chinese Virus, which you all have characterized with eye-rolling hyperbole.

If you are trying to demonstrate that you have no idea what the CDC guidelines are, congrats! You succeeded!

But this thread is not about masks anyway....

Friend of mine - fully vaxed - recently got Covid .. when tested they found he had not one but two varients - and the vax is not "safe". Safe relative to what ? We have thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of adverse effects from the vax.

Question -- for a person without co-morbidity - and without pneumonia succeptibility - is the risk of death greater from Covid - or from the vax ?

Well -- fortunately for you -- I have done that calculation .. and it turns out (at least on the population I was using) the risk of harm from the vax is roughly the same or similar as Covid for a person in the aforementioned category = most of us. Depending on how you do the calculation sometimes the vax is more risk of harm .. other ways it is less .. but both are very comparable.

For arguments sake however , let us assume covid puts person in said category at 2 times more risk of harm than the vax.

    1) this is based on dead and or serious adverse reaction from the vax right now - keep in mind that we do not know yet the long term - or even short term effects that we have not come to understand .. this is a new technology.

Nor do we know the effect of the vax on the virus .. old vaccines would stop the virus in its tracks - preventing it from mutating quickly - the new vax doesn't - which results in the virus - like how bacteria become immune antibiotics - becoming resistant to vaccines.

and last .. there are loads of credible reports from people coming forward - people risking their jobs - telling about how adverse effects are being under reported - or reported as Covid.

    2) using the data that we do have - not taking the other items into consideration - as if we did the harm from vax would be much higher - the risk of harm from the vax is still roughly the same as Covid to a person without comorb/pneumonia succeptibility.

Federal Govt Whistleblower Goes Public with Secret Recordings: ‘Government Doesn’t Want to Show the [COVID] Vaccine is Full of Sh*t’; ‘Shove’ Adverse Effect Reporting ‘Under the Mat’ | Project Veritas

    3) This is the calculation for one round of vax - over a lifetime of continuous vax - the risk of harm of the vax goes way higher than from Covid.

Congratulations! Introducing the new omicron variant the vaccinated will get and will transfer to others. So this argument is officially blown out of the water. The only advantage to the vaccine in the end turned out to be a personal advantage. Lmao what a lame rant this turned out to be
