NHS does not “dismantle private options”, virtually every healthcare system in the world allows for private insurance. See our Northern neighbor for instance...
It’s almost like you don’t know what you are speaking about.

Ah so you do allow sources as long as they suit your world view.
Hypocrisy is a wonderful tool to push ignorance and agenda isn’t it?

The UK spends close to half of what we do per GDP yet achieves 100% coverage, 17.2% vs 9.2% — they also achieve higher levels of patient satisfaction and surpass us in numerous fields (including efficiency). They are facing a labor shortage as are we: https://money.cnn.com/2018/05/04/news/economy/health-care-workers-shortage/index.html

I wonder if that issue would vanish if they tacked another 1 or 2% onto their wages?

The issues they face are not because of inefficiency but because there are not enough medical personnel which they are addressing through numerous programs while we do absolutely nothing — oh wait, the right was trying to reintroduce preexisting coverage not to long ago, surely that will fix it!

    Really?

And so, insurance companies are paying for the testing........no? Oh THAT bit is being covered by your government run CDC

So, here in Aussieland where we DO have NHC

The federal government has a massive stockpile of pandemic response equipment it has maintained for years

The states are co-ordinating the repose plan within the hospitals including deploying more ventilators if required, increase in flight response crews if required (BIG state with sparse population in interior) “surge” strategies if ICUs become overwhelmed. Back up plans on back up plans

Tell me - how does a private healthcare system compete with that?

I know this is probably unfair to think this but I am waiting for one of our more radical right members to say something along the lines of “oh! Well since this virus seems to be mostly taking out the elderly and infirm that just means there will be less burden on society”

Your post is not persuasive in the least.

Our current system is dumb as hell.

I don't care what you have there. I don't want my country to be your country. Pretty simple.

I don't care if you read my link or not, I was very clear that I do not read any of yours. I can see from the link itself it almost 2 years old anyways.

Beauty of my position is that Trump is cruising back into office, Obama care is be taken down bit by bit and the big Medical For All push died,,,,at the hands of the left no less.....It's looking pretty good for my side, not so much for yours.

I don’t have a party, I have voted (R) in more elections than I have (D) or (I). I am not beholden to partisan politics because they do not correspond to the narrative of “my side” and still have some independent operational thought. I don’t have to ignore sources because I can take the data therein and — typically — measure it objectively.

Since you have said you enjoy being a political sheeple — that there is no point in even trying to have a rational or data driven discussion — there is no point to continue, I have made my point and you have respond with “we are winning, screw you”. And you may very well be right — at least temporarily. Intelligence and integrity have given way to the barrage of ignorance and deceit, at least with the generations that are currently in charge, but that is changing.
I will leave you with a quote on your narrative from one of our founding fathers:

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.” - John Adams

Read this sentence exactly as written and you'll get it in no time. Change the "e" in "system" to an "i" if that helps?

Maybe that "stable genius" thing is as contagious as corona-virus?
