Ever since Pat Robertson's guys took over the venerable old UPI, I've not given them much credence. They act on rumors too much. Even the the headline of the OP reflects this: Iran is "said" to have deployed elite forces. Who said?

BTW, if the West finds Iranian troops there, may Allah have mercy upon the very soon future dead souls of Iranian civillians. I think they will get their wish at being martyrs. (Yay!!!! We Iranians all get to be martyrs for Allah!)

I think Ahmsnofarkingmad should announce to the Iranian people that he has arranged for them all to be martyrs and that they should thank him.

    Interesting development if true.

This could lead somewhere not very pleasant.

Two things could take place here...

A.) We deviate from the 2007 foreign policy documented plan, because Iran chose to interfere in Syria...then it's all up in the air

B.) Or...this dies down and the plan continues as planed, Syria falls, Lebanon is weakened, Iran is attacked and war begins...

This is no different than what the West and Gulf has been doing for nearly a year now, so.... It shouldn't come as a big surprise.

    If true.

At least Iran is open with it. Maybe this silences the claims that Iran already had soldiers fighting in Syria.

I am so split on the Syria situation, it's a PR mess...

On one side, you have the media clearly biased to the opposition, you have foreign mercenaries fighting in Syria.... Then then the other you have the Syrian government fighting the rebels, blaming them for the death of civilians.

All I care about is Syrians are bring killed.... But even then, depending on who you talk to the stories are completely different.

    What's really going on?

    Who the (*)(*)(*)(*) knows...........

I think either way, there will be a war.

Seperate from the civil war in Syria.

What is going on in Syria is a game within a game within a game. No matter what Iran does the US must stay out. Obama is a (*)(*)(*)(*) up and will only get American killed if he intervenes.

I think we should watch from a distance, and interfere covertly. We can't afford to have another country in the ME with Iranian influence.

You have already been doing that. Along with Arabia, Qatar, Britain, etc.

Best to just stay out all together.

It was your meddling which has now invited Iran into Syria. You armed and funded the rebels, who know claim to have chemical weapons, and expect Iran to just watch as its main ally goes down?

The result, more Syrian people will die.

The revolution is over, this is more of a coup d'etat....

A new geopolitical order is evolving in the middle east in which the US is a bystander. If America does anything it should be to sell weapons to the Turks and Saudis and allow them to arm the Syrian rebels if they so choose. The only drawback is that some of the Syrian rebels are al Qaeda.

Bottomline...America has absolutely no friends in the middle east.

When I say America, I mean everybody in charge of the country. Not just Obama.

Hilary and Obama are talking about a no-fly zone, like in Libya. Romney has already said he has no problem with US troops in Syria to get their chemical weapons, like in Iraq.

While Obama deserves much of the blame, you cannot pin this solely on the Muslim socialist ;)

    Lol

It's all madness. We've sown the seeds for years with our fingers in all the pies of the middle east, now nobody likes us because really we haven't dealt fairly with anyone, save maybe the turks and really not even them(nice way to repay our NATO buddies who fought against the Nazis with us). Here's the result, you get what you pay for and you reap as you sow. Nobody likes us and we only have ourselves to blame.

    Of course they are.

They are arming the Al-Qaeda rebels, the same ones that flew planes into the twin towers and the pentagon.

Basically, they are arming their mortal "enemy". Enemy in quotation marks because after all, Radical Islam is a CIA creation.

The point is, the 2007 foreign policy redirection stated blatantly that they will undermine the Syrian government using Sunni terror outfits, in order to turn the country into an Iraqi war like state, exactly what has taken place. It also mentions fragmenting and fracturing Lebanon, soon to begin. Then Iran is attacked.

My point is, if Iran interferes with the US foreign policy plan for Syria by sending Iranian troops in there, then this could go south really quickly.

Are you convinced that Muhammed Atta was Al Qaeda?

AL Qaeda is the CIA, they are known as AL CIA-DUH. Even if people had doubts that Al CIA DUH was their own creation Syria has now proved it beyond doubt!
