Is a new America civil war inevitable and unstopable at this point?

I personally believe that you will be seeing a new civil war coming to America within say, the next 20 years or so. I dont think its possible for the left and the right or the Religious / secularist, to reconcile their differences.

Do you agree?

There is a civil war only its being fought with words this time thankfully. Of course the right wing keeps saying things like "Stop talking about racism and it will go away" knowing full well ignoring racism will only make it worse, luckily the left keeps calling the confederacy out on their racist bull(*)(*)(*)(*). Oh im sorry, did I say confederacy? I meant the GOP.

 

There'd be no civil war. People are too busy playing their play station and watching TV. You'd need a crowbar to get them out of their chairs.

 

Sadly your right and I think the south would be more prepared for war than the north, us Northern Liberals are playing video games for fun while Southern Conservatives are shooting helpless animals for sport and stocking up on guns.

 

Not a chance of any rebellion for two solid reasons:

#1: The US Government is far too oppressive to permit ANY rebellion, peaceful, political, or otherwise. Any individual or group with real clout or sway amongst the people that advocated for secession or even just a change from our two-party system would be quickly silenced or eliminated.

#2: The people are simply too fat, too stupid, too lazy, and buy into government propaganda too easily.

The only way there will be another revolution/civil war is in the aftermath of total economic collapse. But, considering the growing economic cracks we see right now, who knows what will happen.

 

Why would you assume it would be a North / South civil war?

As for the nonexistent poll, I vote no.

Eventually, some smart guy is going to figure out that we had the answer to our disagreements all along: The Constitution. Just let each state handle it's own affairs according to the constitution and people will cool off. If people in New York can stop trying to force people in Idaho to be and live like them, we'll eventually learn to get along again,

 

I don't see why it should lead to armed conflict. I would advocate a peaceful separation of ideological groups instead.

 

I believe there will be bombings and snipings and all sorts of cowardly things like that, and I even believe a group of secess Texans will try to overwhelm an Army base for old times sake, but armies marching against armies, nah.

What do you mean? Who do you think it would be fighting? There are tons of tea party idiots and conservatives straight from the South carrying signs saying "There is going to be a 2nd american revolution!" "We didnt bring our guns, this time!". Its conservatives vs liberals, South vs North.

 

Anyone with any sense of world history would reject the very idea of an armed civil war in the U.S.

Civil wars are almost always horribly destructive, with the wholesale murders of men, women, children, and with horrible, horrible atrocities.

Anyone who thinks the U.S. is in trouble now- well a Civil War would likely be the end of us.

Anyone promoting Civil War in the U.S. should be shouted down like the rabid nutcases that they are.

 

Try telling that to the Tea Party, they will just call you a liberal propagandist.

Not entirely sure of the law, but I think it's okay to advocate secession. It's just not okay to advocate picking up arms and forming a rebellion. I've noticed that the brave young romantics in the South aren't crossing that line. Maybe it's just a shortage of the dedication that can be acquired in a pint of corn whiskey.

I don't think you could have a civil war in the way of the past. Today's technologies and power lie on the side of those in power and it'd be a futile fight at best. Private citizens can't monitor all digital and RF emissions, can't fly drones and don't have military might outside of handguns and rifles. Suppression and oppression are what I believe we'll see, more like a controlled state through threat of harm for disobedience. And I do wonder if our borders will always be our borders. No way of knowing, but the tides are shifting in terms of whose power is biggest, whose money is strongest, which country produces the most, etc.

 

Probably 1/4 to 1/3 of the current military would end up with the Rebs. I don't know what weapons they could get away with other than light ones.

You think the status quo will last forever? It's easy for us short-lived humans to make that mistaken assumption.

 

Theres not to be a shootout between the north and south or Liberals and Teaparty or anything else.
There very well may a civil war that has beginnings recently between americans that work and the few that have stripped their quality of life for profit from them.
I truly believe weve hit very close to the tipping point where workers are going to say enough.

 

No I do not, but we are not at the point where we could peacfully seperate and a civil war would be unlikely once one understands that the divisions are not between States but between idiologies that are pretty much evenly divided across most of the Nation. A good way to understand that is to look at the Red/Blue State maps, when ones googles the same maps based on counties one sees that the country turns purple real quick. That means IF there were a real civil war it would makes the first one look like childs play when you consider how many people we are talking about, how many are armed and that they would all be mixed together, they would have to come up with a new more appropriate term for the level of blood bath it would become. Those that advocate a shooting war have usually never seen war first hand and somehow believe they and those they care about would be spared, the reality would be far different and too horrible to even consider for most.

I don't think anyone will be fighting. I think the idea of another US civil war is ridiculous and I'm not sure why some people on this forum want to promote it.

 

Well it seems to this observer that something's got to give. At the rate our liberties are being trampled and we are lied to most impudently by The Most Transparent Administration In History, and The Most Incompetent To Boot, it occurs to us that sensible people are at some point going to have enough. Taxed Enough Already is a hint in the right direction. The Oct. 1 shenanigans, the swamping of the lifeboats by the mooching class, ought to have some passions aroused.

Sadly I have to admit it would be pretty one sided. Looking at those same red/blue and purple maps we find that liberals tend to be gathered into cities while conservatives tend to be more rural. Meaning that cons are spread out while libs are gathered into confined areas. It would be much easier for cons to live off their rural land than libs to forage for food in city parks. Particularly after supply trains began to be derailed. Add to that the fact that cons have the vast majority of guns. Nope it wouldn't look good for us libs.

Which is why we will use another strategy. Rather than fighting them...
