Looks like Israel was smart and took action to Irans brazen escalation. I’m glad they’re not willing to sit idle while politics try and make excuses for Irans involvement in Oct 7th attacks. Let’s hope they prevail.

Israel does have a very limited (>40) number of MRBMs (Jericho 3) with the range to hit Iran, but most of those are believed to carry nuclear weapons. There is no indication this 'show of force' involved those missiles.

For now, Iran is reporting several drones (3) being shot down over Isfahan with eyewitnesses reporting hearing some loud noises, which can either be from air defense systems or small missiles fired from drones. The target appears to have an airbase housing Iranian fighter aircraft including F14s. There appear to be more serious attacks against targets in Syria and Iraq.

Unlike Israel, there are no restrictions on satellite imagery over Iran, the international media will spin the story in a way that fits the propaganda in mind, and Iranian "dissidents" can freely film things and feed fact or fiction as required by the spin. I await to hear what Israel has to say as the US is the side running with these stories for now. Israeli acknowledgment and declaration of intent will be significant in deciding the nature of Iran's response IMO.

Iran said that even the slightest retaliation will be met with sever punishment so I suspect it’s not over but trust me… the ones that will regret the escalation will be Iran.

 

Unless Israel comes out and officially acknowledges it attacked Iran, or unless the attack was meaningful, Iran will probably brush it off.

Some of you amaze me. Obsessing over how to start a war with Iran!

Lets leave aside other Iranian capabilities that have not been showcased. Do you really have any doubt Iran could upend the global economy in such a war, never mind what it could do US bases and assets all over the region? You like to see what happens if Iranian missiles close the Suez Canal, Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz and all traffic through the Bab al Mandeb? What can you possibly gain from that, never mind what will happen to Israel and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia et al.

I suggest you find a more sensible wish and not waste your wishes on somehow getting back at Iran...

Doesn’t sound like it really was meaningful. Sounds like three drones were shot down and you already knew that. But Irans officials did say that even the tiniest retaliation would result in quick and powerful response. I guess we’ll see who has more bluff

 

Oh give it a break!. If Iran had the means they would immediately destroy Israel. Israel has the means to destroy Iran but treats them with kid gloves. That's the reality.

 

This strike pretty much defines "playing politics", and it was a good move. There is no damage, or casualties, so it will probably not trigger another retaliation from Iran. Now both sides have taken their punches, and can call it a game.
