~ Yes actually many are "of color" - Greeks, Italian, Spanish , etc. Most don't call attention to themselves or identify as a "color". This is something the politicians have latched onto and exploited.

Why is this so difficult to understand? Someone posted a drawing from circa 1873 featuring black Republicans, as if to say that the Republican Party has a tradition of inclusiveness. I said, in 1873 Republicans were the liberals, those who would be Democrats today. Get it? So, that 1873 drawing has no bearing on what is being discussed now for the modern Republican Party which is now the conservative party. Look, I think it's crystal clear and I have no desire to continue to debate such an obvious point. Have a nice day. Over and out.

Greeks, Italians, and Spaniards are Caucasians for the most part (except for some immigration and some miscigenation with Arabs in Spain, not in Italy and not in Greece). They get a little sun tan. There are plenty of blond Italians with blue eyes.

You just don't want her to be called black, huh? Why is that? Plenty of divorced kids spend more time with mothers when they are the ones who have custody; it doesn't mean that the father's side gets erased. It's inconvenient for opponents to recognize her as black, huh? Newsflash: she is indeed half-black. Period. Whether you like it or not.

I have no desire to influence your vote. I don't even know what ticket I'll be voting for (I'm one of the last undecided). I suggest that you look at her platform. That should inform you.

And perhaps she is. But Biden made it clear he was looking for a black woman, regardless of qualifications. He said it himself; you cannot argue it.

    1) He never said he was looking for a black woman. He said he was looking for a woman. He still interviewed Elizabeth Warren, white, Gov. Whitmer, white, Tammy Duckworth, Asian-American, and Gov. Lujan Grishnan, Hispanic.
    2) He never said he didn't want anyone qualified, just a black woman. Obviously the black women he did interview are qualified. The only one I think was kind of off was the nutjob who is a fan of Scientology, forgot her name.

Okay, but today's Democrat Party is the party of authoritarian wealthy elites, while the GOP is reforming to look more like a diverse republican workers' party targeting working class Americans. Hard for neo-lib authoritarians to be "liberal".

Oh the times, they are a changin'.

    Spartanburg, South Carolina. (CNN)
-- Former Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that when picking a running mate, he would prefer someone who was "of color and/or a different gender."
"Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender, "

~ Spanish, Greek and Italian are of olive complexion and could well be considered minority. ( check "other" on census ) They do not promote themselves as such and do not brag about their culture, history, stunning architecture, art and fashion design, cuisine and inventions. They do not complain about the abuse and racism their ancestors endured coming to America in the late 1800's - early 1900's. Being called "grease ball, **** , wap" etc. is never use as an excuse to "hate whitey" Americans. They remain humble as part of assimilated America and consider themselves "American".
Excluding skin color and taking background ethnicity into consideration we are all a minority.

Hm... did you miss this little "or" there? Or a different gender, which is why Sen. Warren and Gov. Whitmer also qualified. You guys are really trying to force this issue, aren't you? How do you explain that some white, Asian, and Hispanic women stayed in the race until the very end? Your interpretation flies against the facts.

So you can't come up with anything she's going to do for white males, you know candidates are suppose to campaign for votes. We talk about with white and black women should vote her or black males should vote for her should vote for her, why should white males? What's she going to do for me, I'm an independent voter. If you are a white male, I don't know, and you haven't come up with anything does that mean you'll vote for Trump? She will most likely be President if they win.

It's not a her father was either fully involved or none at all. But CLEARLY it was her mothers side, her Indian side that raised and influenced her the most and for that to be downplayed is dissing that Indian heritage of her life. Same with Obama he was more white than black because of his upbringing, he is gentically 50/50 but his social upbringing is white, so what was the most influential in his life just the genes or the upbringing? Do genes trump everything else?

    This woman is Italian:

    This man is Italian:

I should know, because I'm Italian too (born in America of 100% Italian parents (more recent immigrants, scientists who moved to America right before I was born, for the sake of their research) so I'm a dual citizen of the United States and Italy, given that the United States recognizes jus soli and Italy recognizes jus sanguinis, so the US recognizes me as American and Italy recognizes me as Italian, therefore I hold both passports). And I'm very very white.

This thing of "Italians are olive-skinned" is just an American concept. We come in different shades of skin tone due to sunlight exposure, in our very sunny peninsula. But we're definitely Caucasian. Like every wave of immigrants, our people suffered discrimination, just like the Irish who are also very white and suffered discrimination, too. One of the forms of discrimination was to look at our tanned skins (from sunlight, especially our working classes who came to America) and call us "olive-complexion." No, sorry, whatever box you want to frame us into, we're white.

No, Italian-Americans don't check "other" in Census forms. We check white because that's what we are. Do you really think that Italians are "other" in Census forms? LOL. We're European White. And I don't mean this to say we're superior to any other race. I don't have a single racist fiber in my body. But I am what I am. White. And Italian.

So is my wife, also born here of Italian parents (the funny thing is that we didn't meet here... we met in Europe when we were both there doing post-graduate studies). She is an amazingly pretty, very pale, very light-skinned brunette, with amazing big blue eyes. Of course I won't post a real picture of my wife here, for privacy reasons, but everybody says she looks very much like this woman (and she does, although this one is not Italian):

If you don't think my wife is white, I don't know what to tell you about her ethnicity. What should we call her, then??? "Olive-complexion person of color"??? LOL

I remember an episode that my son mentioned to me. Due to his Italian-American parents, his inheriting my brown eyes rather than his mom's bright blue eyes, and the fact that he is a sports and outdoors enthusiast, he's always had very sun-tanned skin. So some kids in school taunted him as "brown" and he simply lowered his his pants a little, showing the side of his hip, there were sunlight doesn't shine. Milky white. That took care of the "olive-complexion" stereotype for Italian-Americans.

Oh, by the way, yeah, we do brag about our culture, history, stunning architecture, art and fashion design, cuisine and inventions. We're a pretty amazing people. I couldn't be prouder of my heritage.

I know you like "real" music. Here is a piece of ours.

The very blonde Renata Scotto, singing Puccini's "O mio babbino caro" from the opera Gianni Schicchi.

    O mio babbino caro
    Mi piace è bello, bello
    Vo'andare in Porta Rossa
    A comperar l'anello!
    Sì, sì, ci voglio andare!
    E se l'amassi indarno
    Andrei sul Ponte Vecchio
    Ma per buttarmi in Arno!
    Mi struggo e mi tormento!
    O Dio, vorrei morir!
    Babbo, pietà, pietà!
    Babbo, pietà, pietà!

Which is 50/50, do you think genes are more important than the social influence or who raised her?

Okay for the sake of argument we know most Reptilians are Green. It isn't their color that is important . It is their reason for voting for who they vote for, and their reasoning for this vote.
It is obvious the Pelosi voters of Califorkna want all their illegal friends and their free back and forth passage from Mexico, and this insures the Senators power vote. Along with her new maid, and little walks with the Mexican Drug Cartel.
But, what happened to spreading the tax payers money around and, taking care of Americans such as the old, and the ones with less earning power, like say Mississippians that have been rehashed slaves both black and white for hundreds of years. Irish for one have not been immune.

What fallacy, I have clear said it is 50/50 are you saying she is what 60 black and 40 indian and that genes trump social upbringing? Even if so that only makes her half black yet that is what we keep hearing about her being a black woman.

~ Mariah Carey says she is "black" ... All more reason that skin color is irrelevant. Democrats should stop taking about it. It has got to the point of ridiculous .
