I can't believe no one has already started a thread about this... so here goes. Link: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/05/19/biden-knocks-clinton-not-great-candidate.html Biden is certain not a fool. He's bound to have been keenly aware from the beginning of her problems, illegalities, ethical train-wrecks, and stupidities. Now, he's the first Democrat with any stature who is pointing out what many of us knew a year ago -- that HE, Joe Biden, should have been the Democrat nominee. And, even though I'm the staunch right-wing Conservative, I thought then, and now, that Biden is a man of experience, ability, and, for a politician, a reasonably good reputation with integrity. He may be worth considering, by all of us, in 2020.
He had his share of snafus too. Shooting a shotgun through a door and up in the air are two that come to mind.
I know he's not the most intelligent. He would have gotten my vote over both Hillary and Trump though.
I would have voted for him if he was the candidate in 2016 instead of Hillary (I voted for Johnson because there was no chance of me voting for Trump). But I have no intention of voting for him in 2020 unless Trump decides to go for re-election and he's Trump's opponent.
Depending on who actually runs, I may just write in Anne Richards again. If Biden runs, why not. He's a decent fella.
While Biden is popular and even capable (despite the "Biden gaffes") I really don't think Joe will consider it. If he did, he would be 78 years old at the time of the 2020 election. I'm all for us older folks hanging in there and contributing but, 78 might be a big ask. The oldest so far is Trump - at 70, a touch older than Reagan.
Yeah I don't see sexual harassment there. I just don't. We all have our candidates, I'd vote for him, but would prefer better.
Biden was informed that Hillary was the anointed one, and that if he ran she'd have no chance of winning the primary. That is why he stepped aside in 2016. If Comey had brought down Hillary with recommended indictment, as he should have, then Biden would have stepped up, and probably would have beaten Trump.
I'm sure he's a decent man, but he's also going to be too old in 2020. Plus I don't want to see any more of the "old guard" candidates on either side. Not that the "non-politician" worked out so well for the country in 2016.
Bernie supporters would have gone ballistic if Biden would have been injected due to a Clinton indictment. Not so sure that Biden would have done much better than Clinton. Trump's support was all about changing the swamp. Biden was just as culpable from that perspective.
Joe Biden is another do nothing liberal with no business being in politics. The Democrats would be smart to run him though. Right now, he looks to be the best they have.
Absolutely. Biden should've been the Dem nominee last year. As a sitting VP, he probably could've walked into the White House (especially against a train wreck of a candidate like Trump). Sadly, Obama, the DNC, and others caved into the notion of Hillary's "entitlement". If Biden is healthy and willing to run, I think he could WIN in 2020. Even at 77, he will be healthier than a bloated whale like Trump. (And, if Trump isn't around he can dispatch Pence).
