Except for the Mormon thing, the working for his campaign thing, the investment banker thing, etc. The big thing is, he's not a democrat. Don't know how he'd run for president as a democrat when he doesn't want to be one and wants to start his own Conservative party.
Tulsi would be an interesting candidate. In any event, it would seem imperative that the 2020 version of the DNC distance themselves from Hillary.
She's really more moderate. Also, she's a Major in the Army. She has combat deployments, she has right-leaning foreign tendencies. And she's really hot for a politician.
I just think we need to start preparing for a post-Boomer political scene. They've done so much damage to the country, it's time to start the cleanup and get past America's Worst Generation.
Webb turned 71 this year, too... Being a 78+ year old president might be better suited for Generation X and up since we've been able to monitor and find ways to stay healthier longer. But it's still an age you don't want to be at when it comes to the stress of the White House. Look what it does to you... Granted, 8 years can change you, but usually it doesn't change you that much. That's a lot of stress. Most of them had no gray or little gray, but ended their 8 year runs filly gray and almost all gray.
Why not? As long as she can get some angels to finance her with enough money to be competitive, why not? I would love to see her in some of the early debates.
Most people are sick of party lines. Trump, in my opinion, didn't run on Republican party lines. He ran on what's best for the country and for months, I was questioned by liberals as to why I'd support someone who isn't a Conservative. I think we're coming into an age where you have your die hard party line toe'rs and then you have those that have decided that it's best to vote on the message. I, too, am a die hard Conservative but if a democrat came along with the message that I'm looking for, I'd vote for him as long as the Republican wasn't offering the same message but it'd be a win/win either way. I just don't know if there's a democrat out there that has the balls to give a plausible message to Middle Class America which happens to be mostly white. Can Joe speak to minorities and whites alike or will he be screwed if he doesn't use minorities to get votes before pushing them aside like democrats have done for a while now?
I'm not saying all Boomers are bad people, but it just feels like the country has fallen backwards in the past few decades. My parents are Boomers. I hope they are around for a long long time.
Impossible. That's their entire campaign point besides giving free stuff away. They haven't used a message to beat Republicans since the 90's.
That's the same thing we kept hearing about Hillary until she lost. Now she's a loser that couldn't have won and if it was another candidate, he would have won. The DNC's biggest problem is that they shun the majority of America and pander to small groups of people and minorities. While that's fine and dandy, they need to find a message that attracts both minorities AND the majority of Americans because the direction they're moving has turned off a lot of their supporters. Hillary went a year and a half expecting the white vote while she shoved them aside to show minorities how racist she wasn't and Republicans were and it backfired. So what message do you think the DNC could offer that would attract both sides?
It wasn't their message, it was the candidate. The progressive message Trump gave is what got him elected.
I did a little bit of research on her. The only thing that concerns me is that she wants to expand the ACA, which frankly, terrifies me. I dig the pro military stance though. She definitely seems a farcry better than most others the Dems have put forward so far. I'll keep an eye on her.
What an idiotic thing to say. As far as "America's Worst Generation", you clearly aren't very up-to-date on the different generational breakdowns. You're clearly forgetting about Millennials and Generation Z....
They need to distance themselves not only from Hillary, but from the message the DNC has been running for the past 5 years. Making Tom Perez the DNC Chair was a very bad start.
It was the message as much as it was the candidate. What message do you think the next democrat could bring that would bring voters from both sides?
Millennials are by far the worst. They're referred to as the "ME, ME, ME!" generation. Hopefully Z can see what Millennials turned into and opt to follow a different path so as not to look like the ME's.
My problem with Biden is he sat idly by while Obama did a lot of bad things. Fast & Furious....covered up. IRS Targeting Citizens.....covered up. Benghazi with 4 dead Americans including the first American Ambassador killed in the line of Duty since 1979. The Hillary Clinton eMail server and the FBI investigation that got dropped after Lynch met with Bill. No action on Huma forwarding classified eMails to her husband's account. Biden isn't part of the solution, he's a part of the problem.
