No, the reason people don't enslave people today is because god got it wrong that, say, slave owners can beat their slaves and get away with it scot-free if the slave's death drags out past a day or two, which the Bible says in Exodus 21:20-21 (and Jesus has in 2000 years never been moral enough to admit that that was morally wrong - he's a lousy role model.) Those psychos believed that a person is the "property" of another person. Wow. Too bad the Bible has NEVER known right from wrong. Never.

One reason Islam is doing well is that Islam/Mohammad taught to "kill those that leave their Islamic religion", so uh, er, that's a big reason. Mohammad was no more ethical than Fidel - Castro wouldn't let people leave his "paradise" (ha!) because he was too insecure (like Mohammad) to let people leave. Instead of create a better product like you are alluding to, both just say "nah, punish them if they don't like it".

The good news about when Islam takes over is that you can then morally, and legally, beat your wife, per Allah's instructions in Q4:34! "Finally!", some of the Christians are thinking. And if she wants this "equal rights" nonsense, you can point out to her (after you're done beating her) that Q4:34 also says that women are inferior to men, and that men are in charge of women, and not the other way around, and not equal to men.

The "moderate" Muslims won't change or condemn the Islamic texts that say to kill gays, so of course Muslims will continue to throw gays off buildings until the "moderates" muster the moral courage to do that. I blame the "moderates" almost as much as I blame the more pious Muslims.

Christians are obviously no help, as like Muslims, Christians can't muster the moral courage to update/moralize their own Christian texts as well (yep, still says to kill gays in multiple places in the Bible, and that gays don't get into heaven, in Romans.)

 

I'm afraid we'd better all learn exactly how to do that.
And remember, while the Bible say for women to shut the hell up in church in the NT (1 Corinthians 14:33–35 - Jesus and pals think women are inferior to men), Islam also hates women as they relegate their babes to the back of the mosque, and usually gives them a separate entrance too ("separate but equal"....uh, never is, actually.) Back of the bus...back of the mosque.

Not a ton of, uh, female Imams, too.

I'm not going to not condemn one Abrahamic faith (Jesus) just because it might end up raising up a different Islamic faith. Each attack on each Abrahamic faith serves to bring down all of the Abrahamic faiths. That's a good thing, not a bad thing. The texts of both religions say such bad things that I don't necessarily differentiate between them. Slavery in the Bible is not better than slavery in the Islamic texts.

I frequently visited Oxford Street and weekend shoppers are around 90% white. It's hard to spot a black face or a Muslim headscarf.

 

And the Catholic church just uses the money to condemn birth control, so more innocent babies will die from AIDS in Africa anyway. Yes, X-Box is better than giving it to people who are so immoral that they can't find the moral courage to improve on the parts that say a man is only worth HALF a woman.
To be fair Islam says the same thing. It almost seems like they have the SAME god, and are basically the SAME religion (and Jesus/"Isa" is the messiah in both.)
