    Bluesguy, do you believe that there is anyone wrongfully imprisoned for the role they planned in Jan6?

    "The January 6 hostages"

    So he was referring to the group. How many are imprisoned for attacking cops, and how many are still imprisoned for merely trespassing?

    Indeed. People like trump, who can fiddle the system with his armies of shyster lawyers, has been getting away with much worse crimes for a long time.

    Sounds to me like a little bit of an excessive sentence. I could see a 14 months in prison though.

    @Bluesguy
    That should have read 'played,' not 'planned.'

    If they're still in prison today, it's because they committed a serious crime.

    The heaviest sentences have been for those convicted, before a jury, of sedition.

    BS.

    Here's a list with names (its about 8 mos old).
    Full List of Capitol Rioters Jailed So Far and the Sentences They Are Serving (newsweek.com)

    There are a fair amount of convictions for 'assaulting officers' ...but there's far more convictions for 'obstruction of an official proceeding', and those have similar and sometimes longer sentences than the people who were actually violent. Clearly this is what Trump was talking about.

    For contrast, 'obstructing the official proceeding' of SCJ Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing resulted in a few hours of detainment and a $35 fine.
    Protesters continue to interrupt Kavanaugh hearings (yahoo.com)

    I did quite clearly and my position on the matter has not changed from day one. If you have a point to make then make it.
