Sure, but shall we dig up quotes from Democrats on how THEY thought a president's SCOTUS nomination should be handled in an election year, or are you willing to trust me that the Dems are going to be every bit as hypocritical on this matter?

Time will tell. It will all come down to turn out and with Roe v. Wade on the line, democrats will turn out.

I agree. The only reason I asked is that you said it would 'swing' the election, which is Biden's already at this point.

And Democrats DO like Biden. Even conservatives LIKE Biden, he's a likable guy, you can't really deny that. They just argue that he's a closet fascist, (unlike Adolf Trump) or that he's incompetent/demented (unlike the very model of rock-solid decisions we have there now)

No need to take months, pick and appeals court judge who has already been through a confirmation hearing.

Yes, of course the indignation changes when it's ones own party at the helm. Didn't even let the body get cold before announcing the standard Republocrat hypocrisy.

    lol

Pretty sure neither side cares about being hypocritical or not.

Oh sure, both sides will claim that they're not. But reality shows differently.

He can play hardball just like Pelosi and Schumer and Reid. Trump is not a lame duck President, he can nominate and that nomination confirmed.

Democrats have abused their power during the pandemic shutdown and Leftists have trashed our cities by rioting.

What those clowns complain about when it comes to Republicans packing the supreme court with one more conservative vote matters less than nothing to Americans.

I'm sure her most fervent wish was not to die just a few weeks before the election. Alas, her wishes are not to be fulfilled. Maybe she should have been less selfish and resigned when Obama was in power, but her arrogance is Trump's gain.

Correct. The Dems told her to step down pre 2016.

Polling indicates democrats are more anti-trump than pro-joe and with biden sitting with a near perma-49% i strongly disagree with it already having been his.

Why? She couldn't have known how long she would have. It was her right to serve for as long as she was able and willing.

Maybe you should try holding your elected officials to some sort of standard. McConnell is ****ing scumbag. He might even be worse than Trump, all things considered.

February 13, 2016: “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice,” McConnell said in a statement released after Scalia’s death. “Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

Some people are saying that it's hypocrisy for Republicans to nominate someone right now because they blocked Obama's attempt to do so. This is a reductive argument because if it was wrong to block Obama's nomination, that must mean that it was acceptable to nominate someone; so if Republicans nominate someone now that is also acceptable.

As such, it's either OK to nominate someone or both sides are hypocrites because Obama shouldn't have nominated anyone.

Of course not, but it would be nice of the Senate majority leader and the President to live up to McConnell's own past-stated standards and, at the same time, honor Ginsburg's dying wish.

Wait, with Democrats abusing their power during this pandemic (Nancy getting her hair done, for example) and violating constitutional rights by claiming it's OK to riot without masks but not to attend church, you expect Americans to be outraged because Democrats screwed up and have given Republicans a strictly legal way to add another conservative to the supreme court?
    Ha. And ha.

Of course you're not interested in a reasonable discussion but just want to try to needle.

Hold Republicans to some kind of standard. It's your civic duty.

There has been appointments made in as little as 16 days. Does that get you a new TDS high?

Why not live up to Schumer's past statements? In 2016, he was all for the President's nominees getting an up-or-down vote.
