Federal dollars do not fund abortions. They fund cancer screening, prenatal care, STD testing, and--this is important--they fund contraception and sex education which reduces abortion rates. Why would you want to defund the very things that reduce abortion? That doesn't seem smart.

 

by that logic, locking up more black people in prison prevents more pregnancies then abortion... do we need to allow Conjugal visit in prison again, would not want to prevent all those potential children

because according to their figures - which are audited by the way - it is 3%, and even if you take the fact that of the services provided a single patient may receive more than one service it still only places abortion at 12%

ie. PP clinics saw 2.7 million individual patients that year. (2013-14), number of abortions reported was 327,653 (2013-14) making the assumption of one procedure per patient gives the result that abortions make up 12% of their services, add to that-that the only abortions funded by Federal monies are those for rape, incest and life threats to the female and it is plain to see that your 30% figure has been plucked from the air.
