Which is exactly WHY I still WEAR a mask, sanitize and social distance!

    I KNOW the Science!

The vaccine is an ADDITIONAL layer of PROTECTION against my getting either seriously sick and/or dying.

So I am NOT going to be silly enough to NEEDLESSLY expose myself by walking around crowded places in FL without a mask and practicing social distancing and hand sanitation.

FURTHERMORE while I have had BOTH shots that does NOT apply to everyone in my own home. Their HEALTH requires that I CONTINUE to wear my MASK, wash my hands and be aware of social distancing with those I come into contact with on a daily basis.

This is NOT just about myself.

We the People have to trust the Science and do EVERYTHING we can to protect ourselves and OTHERS from this virus and all of it's mutations.

    LOL!

I figured out how to remove my own stitches so I can see how it might affect those who are not aware of what to expect.

Different things affect each of us. I do not like being on the edge of high places but I am perfectly happy to ride a motorbike at high speed around a mountain pass. Go figure!

Glad to hear that you have had both doses. :)

A second study cited further down on your link has different results for Pfizer.

This is why Science requires peer reviews from more than one credible source. What we have now are two studies with differing results and the caveats applied to the original one establishes that more data is needed before a definitive degree of effectiveness can be established when it comes to the mutations and breakthrough cases.

That's just nonsense. Even your own scientists have admitted that because of Delta, herd immunity is not possible, which is what you are referring to. Are you a science denier?

LOL. What happened to the SWAT team? Now you are admitting that I was right in that it isn't a SWAT team but an average 300 lb unarmed security card who needs help from the police.

nope, if 100% of the people were vaccinated we would be much better off, that is just fact

Are you denying that the Pfizer vaccine is only 42% effective against the spread of Delta? Are you denying even the scientific experts have finally decided that herd immunity from the vaccines is not possible?

    yes, it's above 80%

the fact is, most of the people in the hospitals right now are the unvaccinated, over 90% of them

Hey you two! I know how to put in and remove my stitches. I have reset a broken finger and a broken toe. That's how much I hate going to the hospital. Plus, I'm a fall risk. If I went to the ER every time I fell, I would have to change my address to theirs. ;-)

I'm glad you both didn't have too much trouble with your vaccinations and are doing well!

88% is a great percentage especially this far out when they didn't know how much natural immunity some people would have or how long the first set of shots would last once vaccinated. Looks like Pfizer hit the target. If the vaccines can keep people, even if they get sick, at home, the risks in hospital settings is instantly removed. I like it.

DT, I didn't have a chance to read that link so thanks for posting that part.

Our Delta mortality is at about 98+% unvaccinated. A few had had one dose, but these few had significant pre-existing health challenges. I think we've lost two who were fully vaccinated, but both were in their 90's and in palliative care when they aquired Delta (IOW they were at death's door already).

Other than those two very elderly palliative care patients, there hasn't been any fully vaccinated people even hospitalised for Delta - at least thus far. Generally speaking, fully vaccinated people are only going to end up severely ill from Delta if they're cancer patients or otherwise very very compromised - and even then, they won't necessarily die. The vaccine will prevent certain death in at least some of them.

As big a liar as Fauci is, he NEVER once said that he expected enough of us to get vaccinated to reach herd immunity. Fauci gave us the numbers and said we had to reach X level for it to happen. He NEVER predicted it *would* happen.

Trump said that. In fact, Trump said the virus would go away WITHOUT THE VACCINE.

I posted proof from the Mayo Clinic that it is 42%. Why do you deny science? Why do you refuse to listen to the experts?

There is no SWAT team in yourself. There is no SWAT team in others. I actually suspect that you are here only for providing misinformation.

Unrelenting 102-103 temp, muscle pain, shivering, headache, for three full days...after my second shot. Just plain sick and laid on the bed/couch recovering.

I'm hearing that people with antibodies in their system tend to get sick like that. Perhaps I had Covid and didn't know previous to the shot? My family members who got covid had a couple of days of very mild symptoms. Perhaps I got it from them and thought covid was just a bad night's sleep?

I just love it how the left accuses the other side of being science deniers while they deny all science that doesn't fit into their lefty agenda.
