I hate to interrupt this mature discussion with unavoidable facts, but 1. Every criminal has a friend/relative with no criminal history to buy a gun for them. 2. Every criminal who wants a gun has one. 3. Guns are not complicated machines; any amateur machinist can make one. 4. The only people affected by laws are people who are no threat to you. 5. As we speak, 3D printers are making AR lowers.
Australian Gun Control has failed according to Australian Authorities, For example; the Border Control, ' Guns are being smuggled in, in ever increasing numbers. Guns are being manufactured by Illegal Factories making Machine Guns, and other folks are making homemade guns from very crude to very nicely made examples. Many People never turned in unregistered firearms, and still own them, Australian Authorities hope to remedying this situation with moar failed Gun buy back programs a true waste of limited hard earned Tax payer resources.
Australia has a democracy....they have not changed their gun laws back because they feel they are working just fine
That is the Gun Control advocates dream, to Duplicate the same results here in the U.S. Not likely to happen in any case. Australian Gun Control schemes have proved an abject and utter failure, Crime is as high as it ever was, and only Law Abiding Citizens were disarmed.... It is such a Pity
Australia is an island in the middle of nowhere with low population density. If they can't control their firearms, no country can http://thenewdaily.com.au/news/national/2015/11/10/australias-secret-gun-problem-exposed/ http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/...e/news-story/629fb6190e3fc2e7966edd3c181a8a16 • NSW: in 2014-15, there were 3463 firearms charges, up 83 per cent on 2005-06 • Victoria: in 2014-15, there were 3645 firearms-related charges, up 85 per cent on 2005-06 • SA: in 2014, charges for possession and trafficking of guns are up 49 per cent on 2010-11 • Tasmania: in 2014, charges for unlawful gun possession were up 32 per cent on 2005-06
At least you acknowledge the truth. Now we can discuss what to do about it. Neither side wants to see innocent people hurt, but whenever there is an incident, it is the law abiding citizen that is attacked. I don't see ideas that involve raids on the homes of known felons and gang members. It seems like armored cars full of money deserve more protection than human life. I don't even hear talk of how to prevent murder unless it involves a gun. I live in Los Angeles where citizens cannot legally carry guns. (politicians are exempt)
Some people only want to solve problems in the most expensive way. Lock everyone up and build a LOT of prisons.
you plan on going around taking guns from people? I will laugh when I see what happens to you when you try it
You can shop for drugs online, meet a guy in the parking lot and buy whatever you want with no prescription or ID. Cash only. and that fact has not been eradicated by a trillion dollar war on drugs that has created hundreds of thousands of people who are incapable of being anything but criminals
No stereotype. He presented the plan. And it will involve paying lots of taxes and building lots of prisons
Japan doesn't have a fourth amendment a right to counsel a right not to testify against yourself or many other rights freedom really seems to upset you because you want to harass people based on their voting patterns apparently your own posts prove you really don't care about stopping crime or controlling criminals its all about baiting gun owners for their politics
If we punished violent criminals with the same consistency and methodology as the Japanese we'd solve violent crime in a year. Not to mention Japanese prisons. I've been in two of them for wellness checks on incarcerated Marines. It was about 100 times worse than a military brig, if you've ever had the pleasure of being in one of those. One tatami wide and 4 tatami long. Thats like 5x10.
Despite the conditions, the nation of Japan reports that their recidivism rate is increasing, with nearly half of their prisoners reoffending. http://www.japantimes.co.jp/opinion/2014/11/24/editorials/lowering-recidivism-rate/#.WNJiVme1vDc
You mean the kind of gun control where honest citizens do not have access to firearms without government approval.
why not stop this stupid charade? You have never come close to proving that false claim and your recent posts demonstrate that harassing honest gun owners is your real goal
