You are the only one making reference to the holocaust. Just waiting for the anti-semitic twist and the claim that I seem to be supporting racism. LOL

    Aye.

There's no business like Shoah business, like no business I know....

According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz , Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz will demand between 450 million to 1 billion euros in reparations from Germany on behalf of Jews forced into slave labor during the Holocaust, it emerged on Sunday.

Regardless of the question of what qualifies an Israeli minister to demand money on ”behalf of Jews” or even Israeli Jews, I wonder whether it is symbolic that this happens in the same week as Auschwitz’ entrance sign was stolen.

For those who fail to remember, the Auschwitz sign says ‘Work Liberates’ (Arbeit macht frei). Clearly, as far as Minister Steinitz is concerned, it is actually Schnor * that sets him free.

Nothing wrong with us paying reparations for stolen monies. We were doing so very recently even in respect of WWI. We are touched by your concern for us though.

That concept might sound convincing to Holocaust abusers who are defensive of such practices. By the way, there is this forum rule about ad hominems, just it case you would like to know.

Individuals who bad-mouth Semites must learn to accept responsibility for their actions instead of defending and justifying their racism.

Gosh I am shocked that Jack would refer to a fellow member of the forum as an "it".

Then going on to recommend that another member "toy" with this "it".

I am really disheartened seeing as though Jack is a moral pole with respect to the treatment of Palestinians as human beings.

Could make sense if Germany had not already paid for such:

    Despite the protests, the agreement was signed in September of that year, and West Germany paid Israel a sum of 3 billion marks over the next fourteen years;
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reparations_Agreement_between_Israel_and_West_Germany

So, Israel and Germany made an agreement, Germany paid and now Ìsrael insists on abusing the Holocaust for more money?

There is no abuse. If further claimaints can justify their claims, no country would have had jurisdiction to have waived those claimaints' claims. The extent of the damages can often only be established over time, explaining how Germany paid reparations until the 90s in respect of WWI (despite treaties and agreements).

    Judge...you missed the best bit...

In 2009, Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz announced that he will demand a further €450 million to €1 billion in reparations from Germany on behalf of some 30,000 Israeli forced labor survivors. Israel has also sought large discounts on the purchase of two German-built MEKO warships

    Wow.

    After all that time.

    Another 30,000.

I am sure that 30,000 will be happy with those warships though.

    Well compensated, that is.

    They can retire in them.

This frequent usage of "you" seems to have much relevance with the ad-hominem equation. Please explain how I'm supposed to be the thread discussion in relation to the forum rules. Something seems to be missing here.

The concept of anti-Semitism was never designed to defend and honor the hatred of non-Jewish Semites, or any Semites for that matter. Why does your position appear to be totally void of any criticism against the hatred of non-Jewish Semites? Is it not wrong to hate Semites?

Germany was at fault, Germany fairly and justly paid for its crimes and now Israel needs to stop misusing and abusing the Holocaust. Please explain again this corrupt concept of it not being anti-Semitism to hate Semites in a heavily racist manner. Why does Israel not oppose the hatred of Semites? Israel is a Holocaust abuser.

I am most certainly entitled to air the view that your comments evidence a jump in logic, without it being a personal attack. That is part and parcel of debate.

The concept of anti-semitism was to establish, originally, racial differentiation in relation to jews by Wagner. Only in respect of jews, is anti-semitism a recognised term, notwithstanding your disagreement with this approach. This also does not mean that there is no such thing as islamophobia, but it is not anti-semitism. It is another form of prejudice.

Claims by victims of the war - by international law - do enjoy claims despite your claims that they may be misusing and abusing the holocaust. They have to prove these claims and are entitled to compensation. In fact it tends to be an anti-semitic position that Germany is being wronged and that the victims did not really suffer. Germany will pay for its injustices until its victims have been fully compensated. It is not for you or I to know when that is so. It will happen when no one can prove his or her claims any further.

So, where is the missing evidence to support the ad hominems?

So, with this argument, we are supposed to believe that it is perfectly acceptable to insult and condemn Semites in a heavily racist manner using the anti-Semite card?

Erm TJ, this is the jump in logic I was referring to and the evidence is contained therein. I never said that insulting anyone in a heavily racist manner is perfectly acceptable - you now have. I explained the term anti-semitism and its roots.
In the future I am compelled to only reply to posts of yours using quotes of mine.

The claims were made and Germany paid, so why is Israel still abusing the Holocaust while smearing Semites with racist hatred in the name of anti-Semitism?

Well, if it is not acceptable for a racist to insult and condemn Semites, then certainly it is not acceptable for certain Israeli racists to insult and condemn hated Semites with the anti-Semite card, right? It is unlogical to argue that it is acceptable for a racist Israeli hater of Semites to condemn Arab Semites, and thus it is unacceptable to argue that a hater of Semites is not anti-Semite. It is the hatred that one must oppose, not the criticism of such hatred. If Israel does not understand what it means to oppose hatred, then why is Israel still abusing the Holocaust while demanding for Germany to pay for what it has already paid? When is enough enough and why are Semites still being hated?

More claims have been proven and will be compensated. Such claims do not prescribe because TJ says they have no validity and he is satisfied that they do not exist or have been adequately compensated. A court will make these determinations - a real Judge, so to speak :)

I will not reply to the second part of your post which does not include any quotes for reference purposes.

You will have to provide a quote because as usual I cannot follow the logic of hated semites, insults, racists, anti-semite card (in no particular order).

Because it is a large part of what they rely on to keep their quasi socialist Jewish elite state going.

That, plus monies stolen from the pockets of Americans.

    And the blood diamond trade.

Plus land stolen from native people.

Pretty much thieves and criminals, but what do you really expect from a state that was seeded by terrorism and criminals.

From toxic seed, toxic plants grow.

This means that you either don't have enough knowledge on the topic to discuss it, meaning that you don't have a single clue as to what you are talking about, or you refuse to be honest about the given situation. I vote for the later because is quite impossible to discuss the matter without having a fair understanding of the hatred existing on both sides. This problem of dishonesty is likely linked to criminal intent, where one seeks to defend a crime by denying that it exists.

It is very sad indeed that the good intentions of some are being misused for the wrong cause. Sometimes, people who seek to do good are taken advantage of, especially when they freely distribute wealth in response to feelings of guilt, pity or sorrow.

Yes, but only the lowest of con men, hucksters, and charlatans would actually base part of their economy on taking advantage of such things.

    It's beyond Chutzpah. ;)

I mean, really, take this man, for example.

Read a little about him, when you get the chance, consider the previous cases of fraud and bogus victims, and tell me - what evidence is there that this man isn't yet another ghoulish exploiter.....http://www.politicalforum.com/political-opinions-beliefs/251909-elie-wiesel-cons-world.html

Why would you quote your own post as if it were gospel, such an ego. By the way, Israel doesn't deal in blood diamonds despite what the electronic intifada claims.

What? (Who quoted their own post????)

If you have just joined, and made six posts, remember my ego, not matter if you want it to be, is not the topic, indeed, that topic would be a clear violation of the rules.

    Read them.

    Of course not.

    Nor human organs either.

    Of course not.

    As if.

“While there is some public awareness about the trade in blood-tainted, rough diamonds from Zimbabwe, the media in general ignores the far larger trade in blood tainted diamonds from Israel.

According to evidence presented at the London session of the Russell Tribunal on Palestine last year, the Israeli diamond industry generates about US$1 billion in funding for the Israeli military each year. So when someone buys a diamond from Israel they are helping to fund war crimes and other human rights violations in Palestine.”
