The expression "Czechoslovakia" expresses very good one of the worst idiocies of this result of world war 1: The biggest group of people were Checks in Czechoslovakia and the third biggest groups were Slovaks. The biggest part of the forgotten rest became very soon convinced Nazis.

If existed the so called "Septemberverschwörung" (September conspiracy) around Hans Oster. Oster was like all others of this conspiracy not a Nazi but a resistance fighter. If an American soldier killed a German soldier in world war 2 then he did not automatically kill a Nazi. Sometimes he killed a resistance fighter.

Bad luck in this case. Nevertheless had been Bohemia since a very long time of history an important territory of the holy empire. Indeed there was a good chance to get a more stable situation without any bad consequences for Checks and Slovaks. But this did not happen. The idea "nationalism" was to mighty. And now comes the difficult part of this problem of history: No one is able to make experiments in history. If we could repeat the same situation then it cloud give a good solution suddenly. We don't know how chaotic history is - but it looks like it is a pretty chaos. This makes it difficult to find good golden rules.

    Ehm ...
France, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Great Britian, Greece, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Estonia, Letland, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Montenegro?

In addition, there are still overseas Canada and at least on paper Turkey, whereby I personally renounce their help.
Nuclear armed are from it only France and Great Britian, but this is completely sufficient.
Likewise, it is a fact that we ourselves do not and do not want to have nuclear weapons, but in the event of a war, we have due to NATO treaty to put in the jets and pilots, as well as Missile systems, and crews for it which then shoot the nuclear weapons which the USA would give us. I am pretty sure, that a French bomb also fits under a German jet same way as a US bomb ;-)

You would trust Croatia, Romania, and Montenegro, usw., to provide defense for Germany in a nuclear war? And you seriously believe that Canada, Turkey, or Great Britain would defend Germany in a nuclear war? Das ist völlig wahnsinnig....

One should not confuse 'voting for sanctions' and making eloquent expressions of 'condemnation' in the polite surroundings of the UN or in Brussels with waging all-out war, Mandelus. In brief, I suggest Russia as a good ally for Germany if only because Putin would dearly love to have a close alliance with you, and because Russia has the power the utterly annihilate any country or alliance that would threaten a Russia-Germany alliance.

What about France, you might ask? Of course France would also be included in a Russia-German alliance. As you already know, France and Germany do enjoy a very useful, cordial relationship right now, even though France is like Germany's "stupid, complaining little brother" in many respects, as are most of the other countries in the EU. France, Italy, and the others would "tag along", but Germany's ability to successfully run a robust, thriving economy would be the strongest attraction for Russia, in addition to the obvious logistical situation Germany holds in Western Europe....

One day when he fires missiles at California or Hawaii, the left wing is going to ask why we never did anything. It's going to be a sad day that was predicted.

North Korea's pursuit of nuclear weaponry is entirely rational and justified.

It is an attempt to protect themselves from the aggressive imperialism of the US government.

So if Americans really want North Korea to end its pursuit of nuclear weaponry, then perhaps they should consider getting their own psychopathic government under control.

How come no other nation in the region needs nuclear weapons to protect themselves from big bad America?

North Korea is an aggressor nation who wants to use nuclear weapons for its own evil purposes

Russia and China are both in that region and both of them have nuclear weapons, which is why they will never be attacked by the US government. North Korea would like similar assurances, and with good reason.

    Pure nonsense.

North Korea is pursuing nuclear weaponry for purely defensive purposes against the imperialist USA.

The United States government insists that nuclear weaponry is absolutely essential to the security and defense of America.

So why is it when North Korea pursues such weaponry, it is immediately interpreted as aggressive? Why can't North Korea's pursuit of nuclear weaponry be based on the same desire for security and defense?

Nobody actually knows who started the Korean war. The "official" start of the war was preceded by many months of border skirmishes between the north and the south, and the southern political leadership had designs on invading and annexing the north. It would be accurate to describe the start of that war as being mutual.

In any case, the armistice ended armed conflict between the belligerents and there is no reason to renew that conflict at present. North Korea has attempted to enter into peace talks with the US government again and again only to be rebuffed and back-stabbed repeatedly. Viewed in this context, their pursuit of nuclear weaponry makes a great deal of sense. But if you accept the government/media narrative at face value, then there is no possibility of seeing this conflict in an objective, dispassionate way.

Of course we know who started the war

It was north korea who invaded the south with overwhelming military force and marched all the way to Pusan before being stopped

Because South Korea and Japan are US vassals that facilitate US imperialism in the region.

This is only true if you ignore all the border skirmishes and incursions that preceded the North's large scale invasion of the South.

The South Korean government was a dictatorial puppet regime that had its own designs of invasion and conquest. The North simply beat them to the punch.

Please provide evidence and/or credible information that supports these statements you have made. Understand, I'm not necessarily saying you are incorrect, but, really, when you make broad-brush statements like those, you should at least support them with something more substantial than what looks to be mere opinion....

The facts, as they have been recorded in history say, in essence:

    1. North Korea invaded South Korea, starting what has been known as "The Korean War".
    2. The Korean War, which began in 1950, has not ever officially ended. There was only an 'armistice' in 1953.

Do you have credible evidence that denies either of those facts?

The south korean army had no heavy weapons to invade the north with

Kim on the other hand had the T-34 russian tank that was one of the best

When north korea attacked it brushed the ROK army aside and and almost drove it into the sea

To characterize the war as being "started" by the North in 1950 is to ignore virtually all the context and history that led up to that point. It was a mutual conflict that had been in progress for years. 1950 was merely the culmination.

    Everything I said was factual.

South Korean forces spearheaded multiple incursions into the North months prior to the large scale invasion by Northern forces, and the South Korean ruler, Syngman Rhee, stated his desire and intent to reunify Korea by invading the North. The conflict was entirely mutual.

And, yet, South Korean forces did "invade" the North by spearheading numerous incursions into Northern territory months before the war officially broke out in 1950, and the ruler of South Korea stated his intent to unify Korea with an invasion of the North. He hoped to make up for his lack of heavy weaponry by drawing the US into the war on his side. I know it must really chap your ass knowing that not everything bad that happened in the world can be attributed to "commies" hellbent on world domination. Often times, reality is much messier than that.

No, I'm just someone who knows how to think for himself and how to assess historical evidence unemotionally. You should try it sometime.

    Sez you and the communists

A squad on patrol is not an invasion

And yes Singman Rhee was quite mititant and might have invaded the north if he could

Which is why the US did not provide him with heavy weapons

What do you call "defense" in case of a nuclear war? There is only the possiblity of an overkill and not any real defense. Even the own weapons will kill you with their nuclear fall out everywhere in the world. And if this will not kill you then all survivors of this war will kill you.
