Actually he didn't. He was sued by the Assistant DA for slander and libel who was awarded damages. But those weren't paid for by Sharpton. It was paid by his supporters - one of which was Johnnie Cochran. Sharpton is the original poverty pimp, he's never held accountable for anything but makes his living off of the poor that he helps keep down.

 

Duh?! What are you, a professional mourner or something? So go weep at his funeral. But please spare us the pseudo familial denial and emotional self righteousness. That's the Parents place.

Actually, yes. You're missing Obama personalizing the situation w/his sappy comment about 'if I had a son, he would have looked like Treyvon' - not to mention the fact that he was - again - making it all about himself!

This self-proclaimed lawyer turned POTUS should have handled the question the ethical way by not commenting on Martin's death when he didn't have any facts, no info about it and there would most likely be an upcoming trial! Him and all others in the spotlight should shut up until the investigation and trial (if there is one) is over. Obama knows dam well his words could influence the jury pool......

he lost the civil case where he taunted the guy he defamed who was
an asst. Districty Attorney and then after LOSING the case and
a $65,ooo judgement did what was expected.He doubled down yet again.
Sharpton openly stating he wasn't going to pay.Eventually his
buddied took up a collection and paid the $65,ooo judgement.
That's who were dealing with here folks.

 

He also got a young Jewish man murdered in NYC after inflaming blacks to attack Jews...how he has stayed alive this long is a testament to the devil's protection...

When Obama was asked about the Trayvon Martin incident, it probably would've been best to comment on a pending investigation, and for everyone to remain calm in what appears to be an injustice (and that it may only appear that way due to a lack of released information). Although I haven't seen any information that says Zimmerman was correct (especially given the newly released voice expert assessments) I'd have to say a neutral approach would've been better. Hardly anything to cry about though...

 

It shows the difference between leadership, and the lack thereof.

Obama just isn't a good leader, and his immediate reaction is to side with whoever has the same color skin as him... That makes him a racist.

Or impulsive. Plenty of Americans, from various backgrounds and ethnicities, held the same immediate reaction... and they're equally as guilty of forming an opinion based on a lack of information. That's it... race is irrelevant.

 

It was a leadership opportunity where he failed. And yes, race has everything to do with this, or rather, racism does.

The liberals are once again trying to inflame racial tensions for their own political gain, and stupid people are letting them, and buying into the lynch mob mentality. The liberal media portrayed this story as an innocent little child getting hunted down and shot in cold blood by an evil racist white man. They did that deliberately, just like Obama jumped in on it, deliberately. If you think it wasn't calculated, you're being naive.

 

This wasn't an incident in which this country was attacked, received notice of an ally in need of aid, or some other instance that actually requires Presidential leadership. The press conference where his comment was made wasn't even because of the Sanford incident. He wasn't obligated to respond to this in any way, so no. He made a premature comment based on the existing information at the time (which was incredible minimal).

You're jumping around now. First, it was he's racist... and now, it was a calculated political move. His "calculated" response to the Cambridge situation didn't help him, so there's no reason to believe this would. His "If I said a son" comment was a moment to reflect on the perceptions we allow to enter our mode of thinking, and how judging a book by it's cover isn't an accurate synopsis (which, again, would be a valid statement to make had we known this were a racially-motivated instance). He let reactionary emotion get the best of him... and many of us did the same (regardless of race).

 

It's not jumping around. It's both calculated and racist. Obama gets the double bonus of being able to weigh in on the same side as someone with the same skin color as he has, while stirring the pot even more.

They need the black vote desperately, just like they need the female vote. Not to say that Obama wouldn't already get the majority of black voters, but it doesn't help him much unless those voters are inspired to actually vote. So they trumped up a "racial" incident for their own political gain, again, just like they trumped up the "War on Women" when they lied about conservatives trying to block access to contraceptives.
