I stand if I'm there. But I could care less if anyone else didn't. I don't go to ANY sporting event to see if the players stand or kneel during the anthem.

Here Mac, I will PM you my pay pal so you can pay me the cost of an NFL ticket to watch me stand for the anthem for a couple of minutes. We got a deal?

No not on "black athletes" nice try to human shield.

The blame is on the insulting display of anti-cop, anti-White, anti-American hate that many NFL players have adopted and on the leagues refusal to punish.

LOL. Love how you accuse me of "human shielding" and then immediately do the same in response.

The black NFL players do not want you to ignore their disrespect to America

You are supposed to be offended

But I guess that only works on conservatives who love this country

And you get no free stuff from me

Ask your local welfare office if the have NFL tickets to give away

Sure buddy, sure guy, I'm sure its just a coincidence.

NFL racists kneel --> the people stop going to games, stop watching games, stop buying merch

Businesses keep advertising on NFL --> the people stop patronizing those businesses

    Ya, no connection.

Nope, one is an attempt to ignore the root cause by throwing "black people" in front of it.

The other IS the root cause.

(btw you know kneeling isnt limited to black players just fyi btw gg)

All pizza companies have historically gotten a boost from the NFL season, both fresh and frozen. When the NFL slumps so do those companies. Is it partially their fault? Of course, but there simply exists no ready base to appeal to with such short notice or such vast numbers as the NFL used to pull.

Schnatter does make a fair point that this should have been nipped in the bud long ago. The NFL mishandled this from the start and are losing profits. The league would be wise to replace him soon. With all the options for entertainment, the losses the NFL is seeing to viewership may not ever return, or only in small increments...

Who cares when they were? Again, do you pay money to watch sporting events to see players stand for 2 minutes while a local guy/gal sings the anthem?

Very well, said Walter! It reminds me of the USSR and North Korea where everyday citizens will turn you into the police for displaying "anti-government" sentiments just because you didn't stand or vote to deny the president from being voted by 100% of the nation's population.

An important question is whether or not the US government will punish its citizens in the same way or if the fear of it is enough. Personally, I think it's only fear but it wasn't long ago that severe punishment was handed out to innocent citizens during the Joseph McCarthy period. Fear of the police/FBI/CIA/NSA is tangible in the US. This is what lies at the bottom of the phoney "disrespect" over the flag and standing for it.

No one should be coaxed into standing and putting their hand over their heart at sporting events. That is crap-out forced allegiance. It is the very same Fascism as found in Nazi Germany and the USSR.

I agree they should have done something earlier. But to be honest, I am kind of torn because it was a story last year when Kapernick did it, but Trump and the right have turned this into something that it is not and have moved it from a story to an all out war on american values. With that said, once it became that, the NFL should have stepped in and done more than they did, on that we agree.

But if you look at the article, Papa Johns is actually UP, not even, not loosing, they have beaten expectation in the third quarter, which would coincide with the NFL season starting. Thats where I get lost in the race to blame the NFL. If they are up since the football season started, the effect you mention that historically they get a boost, actually happened in this case, right ?
