Portland sees peaceful night of protests following withdrawal of federal agents

They've gotten even worse after the feds "left". Specifically: The rioters attempted to commit murder the other night (in the words of the mayor). Did they do that while the feds were there too, or is this an indication that things are getting worse now that the feds have "left"?

 

I don't think I follow your question. The rioters HAVE burned and looted before. They do it whenever they think they can get away with it, like at times when police are sufficiently cowed from political pressure to respond effectively. The entire premise of your question is wrong.

The first riot I have seen was Watts early 60's and then the ones to present. this is the only one I can remember where the local authorities supported the rioters and turned on their own police.

 

That lasted about one night before the fires started again.

 

You know. He's talking about those 25 year old Communist Republicans who want to destroy capitalism and the Constitution. Yeah, that makes sense.

 

Things actually got better for the law-abiding citizens of Portland while the feds were there, because the riot rats were drawn to the federal building like rats to free cheese, and that distracted the riot rats away from wreaking havoc on the rest of the city, as they had been doing before, and went back to doing as soon as the federal distraction was over.

The non-insane citizens of Portland(what few there may be) got a welcome reprieve from the widespread mayhem of the riot rats while the rioting pinheads were focused on the shiny object of the federal officers in one location.

A single day of right wing idiocy in a single city, and you'd think it was a year-long mass Nazi Boogaloo conflagration that rocked the world the way the lefties are constantly blathering about it.

It was one day, in one city, and then... about nothing. It was like all of the right wing knuckleheads involved realized how ridiculous it all was, and the Illinois Nazis all grew up, put away their dumb tiki torches, and got on with their lives.

And lately it's been a leftist Charlottesville-a-day all across the country for MONTHS, and yet the left just can't stop going back to some crap that happened on one day, in one place, THREE YEARS AGO, like it somehow offsets all the leftist riot rat insanity and evens the score.

 

Or else, perhaps you are just in agreement with the fringe Far Left. If not, Eric Weinstein might call you a coward. Personally, I just think that your knowledge of politics is highly partisan and not very well-rounded, deep or broad.

My Mom was a Republican, but she was afraid of Right wing extremists like Nazis.

In this age, I am not sure. But in the world I grew up in, anything that held the insane in check was a good idea.

And insanity has become exceedingly popular.

To get around to some of the whining I have been ignoring, protests are part of democracy. Some countries, like France, get tons more than we do. But it's part of the deal.

The authoritarian lust I see here worries me a thousand times more than Antifa. We've seen how bad that can get in many countries, I don't want to see it here.

Are you promoting a conspiracy theory? And you seem to think that there were no riots BEFORE the feds arrived!

 

Everyone should fear extremists when they want to overthrow democracy, disregard rule of law, and become violent to achieve power. That is fascism. That is Antifa. Fascism requires some uneasy collaboration with existing government. Watching liberal Democrats turn a blind eye to the riots and violence Antifa is causing, all the way up to our congressional senators, is what should worry you.

And yes, the majority of civilian protesters marching for police reforms are peaceful, but they have allowed this violent contingent of anarchists to co-opt their movement. Without a vocal denouncement of the violent mobs, they too become complicit through their silence.
