President Biden deserves to be credited with having the cojones to stand up to the MIC.

As a liberal leaning Independent with a strong fiscal conservative streak neither party represents where I stand politically.

I make my voting decisions based upon whether or not the candidate will help or harm We the People.

So yes, I did vote for Joe and Kamala over the ODIOUS alternative.

President Biden's accomplishments to date have been far more impressive and done way more to BENEFIT We the People than his WORTHLESS predecessor did during his entire 4 year infestation of the Oval office.

And now we see the Media and Extreme Right ATTACKING President Biden for having the testicular fortitude to stand up against the Military-Industrial-Complex and do what was RIGHT for We the People and our nation by pulling out of Afghanistan.

Getting involved in a war in Afghanistan was one of the DUMBEST moves ever made by any occupant of the Oval office and the Bush/Cheney regime was one of the WORST when it came to dumb moves. Both of them deserve to be tried for War Crimes IMO.

The LOSS of the LIVES and LIMBS of those serving in Afghanistan was NEVER worth whatever mindless "advantage" there might have been in endless "nation building" warmongering.

The COST to TAXPAYERS is going to a BURDEN on future generations.

So pulling out was the RIGHT DECISION.

President Biden could well pay a steep political price in the short term for his BRAVERY at staring down the Military-Industrial-Complex``.

But HISTORY will credit Biden with doing what was best for We the People and our nation.

Standing up for what is right takes COURAGE and that is the WHY I am PROUD of what my president has done.

    :salute:

There is a list a mile long of Trump's important, productive and beneficial accomplishments for America and for Americans in general, and I have posted it here before, and could post it here again if needed. But that one statement of yours that Biden's accomplishments have been far more impressive then that of our greatest modern day president (Trump) is so ridiculously insane, that I couldn't help but to implore you to show or tell us of even one such accomplishment from Biden (America's most disastrous failure by far). Give us his accomplishments, fella. :fishing:

But ....the MIC was right, Biden was wrong.... That is SUPIDITY, not BRAVERY

Do you feel PROUD when you see the pictures of people falling to their deaths from the evacuation air planes while being left behind by the amazing potus?

I agree with getting out of Afghanistan. However, Biden has created a disaster of monstrous proportions.

As the days go by that seems to be a bit of hyperbole. If by the end of the month the Americans that want to leave are out of the country and none of them have been killed by the Taliban, this event will be quickly forgotten. By Christmas the only people talking about it will be the BDS folks

It will never be forgotten. It dwarfs the disastrous departure from Vietnam and we get reminded of that frequently.

I had not heard anyone talk about our departure from Vietnam until we started talking about leaving Afghanistan.

I do not even think you could make a good case that the disastrous departure from Vietnam hurt Ford politically.

Yes, it was a bad image, but in the long run it was not even a blip on the political radar in the US

    hmm ya think?
Let’s see. You guys are still milking January 6th and this screw up is way worse
I think we can get at least 5 years out of this
Maybe even longer if you take into account the poor victims falling to their doom from the Evacuation plane
Your votes lead to those deaths and you best believe we are gonna milk the ever loving crap out of it!
Your boy screwed up. Be ready to be reminded DAILY!

I am sure it elevated Ford's three year career as a US president.

Not sure who "you guys are", but this is no way worse than Jan 6th. Jan 6th was an attack on the very linchpin of our country, the peaceful transfer of power.

They were not Americans, as such Americans will not give a **** about them

this is who I voted for, don't blame me....https://jo20.com/

Yes, Biden did screw up Bigly, I have not seen a single person question that.

But as you know, he is not my boy. I never voted for him, not even for VP

Quickly forgotten? They are bringing tens of thousands of our child raping "allies" to remind us in the future. Afghan refugees are one of the leading cause of terrorism in Europe. We will be receiving that gift over the course of the next few decades and our "leaders" will be perplexed as to why. At this point we have to accept that our leaders desperately want terrorism on our own shores. It is the fig leaf they need to justify authoritarianism.

I do not support and would never support importing anybody from a country in which 99% of the inhabitants support sharia law (according to Gallup). Afghan refugees should be situated in Saudi Arabia or some other such country in which the government/culture represent Afghan values.

Standing up to the MIC? Dude today's mic is little more than the far lefts political commissariat. He didn't stand up to them, assuming he had any idea what he was doing, he kowtowed.

What the whole Afghan withdrawal debacle reveals to anyone paying attention is that these hubris ridden leftist schmucks who think they should be allowed to plan the whole US economy don't have the intellectual acumen to plan a party for four at a cheap restaurant.

There’s allot of mixed messages going on. I don’t see how one side can heap lavish praise on Biden for leaving Afghanistan, and still blame the collapse on Trump.

The fact is, while Biden deserves credit for finally leaving Afghanistan, and not punting the war too the next president like his predecessors did, he’ll still be blamed for the chaos on the ground.

It was no secret that the Afghan government was corrupt, and never stood a chance against the Taliban. Their collapse was all but inevitable. There should have been contingency plans for this inevitability, and it doesn’t seem like there was any put in place.
Biden’s own messaging is doing him no favors either.
Two weeks ago, Biden was saying that there was no chance that the Afghan government collapse, which was counter to conventional wisdom, and now
    He’s saying chaos was inevitable.

Yes, ending our 20 year presence in Afghanistan is long over due, but the withdrawal has made the US military, and Biden look inept. It’s as simple as that.
