There's a hell of a big difference between EARNED entitlements and all the handout welfare programs characterized by Democrat regimes -- a VAST difference. Before Trump gets on a campaign to screw with Social Security, he would do well to remember what a stunning, abject FAILURE that W. Bush had when he made efforts toward selling the American public the idea of 'privatizing' Social Security. Down in FLAMES!

Hint: Baby Boomers are notorious for voting every chance they get, and they were the last decently-educated generation this country produced!

And Democrats? NO WAY in the WORLD would they touch Social Security... they know it is political SUICIDE even to talk about harming Social Security! Boomers may think Biden is a decayed, demented idiot, but they'll vote for him in droves if they get wind of a plot by the Trump admn. to gut their EARNED benefits....

It pissed Pelosi and Schumer off because she couldn't lie about the proceedings like she usually does. Pelosi wanted 2 trillion in the first place so she asks for something totally ridiculous and then acts like she's mortally wounded to make a compromised. If Trump agreed to the two trillion you would complain about Trump increasing. No matter what Trump does the left will bitch so I am all for him shoving this situation up their ass.

 

Indeed. Even the Press Secretary couldn't say when the payments will start. And the governors, who only heard about this the same time the rest of us did, are saying they don't have the money. For those who still have CARES funding, it has already been allocated to virus related spending (testing, contact tracing, etc)

(*Sigh!*) OK, look, if Trump wants to try to 'privatize' Social Security and/or Medicare, then he can attempt that. He would be the next in line of well-known Republicans, including Chris Christie, Rick Santorum, and "W" Bush who have completely FAILED to get any traction with the concept. Too bad for Trump, though, because with the exception of his almost manic obsession with boosting the stock markets by any means imaginable, Trump has had some very useful, very beneficial ideas and policies. But Biden's handlers have already taken the issue and are working to spread the word -- which will actually be TRUE this time -- that Trump wants to take away their EARNED retirement.

And before you put too much faith in 'privatizing' Social Security, remember this: WHAT THE STOCK MARKET GIVETH, THE STOCK MARKET TAKETH AWAY! If you read my earlier post about this, Trump will lose many millions of Boomer votes by trying to destroy SS, and he cannot (CANNOT) afford to do that and even hope to win the election.... Older people at retirement age aren't excited at all about the idea of watching everything they own given over to the 'tender mercies' of a hugely overvalued, fraudulently-stoked stock market!

If you want to 'hate on' somebody about Social Security, than hate-on Frankie Roosevelt! He's the great Democrat demi-god who started this whole thing -- but it's been welded into the foundation of the entire American way of life since before any of us was even born! It's part of what you work for, and part of what nearly all Americans have counted on all their lives for their retirement.

If Trump had agreed to the middle ground, I would have given kudos for being a reasonable individual who negotiates. Instead, he reinforces the fact that he is a little baby who only wants things his own way.

Trump took the middle ground. Benefits had ENDED-people are being evicted nationwide. Now they are back thanks to Trump.

Things like abolishing voter ID (already passed law in 30-ish states) has NOTHING to do with Covid relief.

Nancy was called out by media over the last few weeks by journalists-and she shouted them down-literally yelling NO! NO! NO! NO! at them.

Trump is a problem solver, the dems aren't big on solving problems.

Now the losers game plan is to scream about "unconstitutional slop" (lol Mark Levin broke it down for them), and scaring people by saying Trump is going to end SS and medicare (which they do against most Republicans anyway).

Lol. If one side wants 1, and the other side wants 3, then yes, the side that offers 2 is the one doing the negotiation and not the hardline position. You can squawk all you want about what's inside (I'm sure I could find things that the Reps want that arent covid related), but saying the Dems arent negotiating and taking the headline position is categorically false and the opposite of reality.

 

They could both be replaced by very substantial vested dedicated individual accounts for retirement and healthcare. Should not be proposed unless it includes credible details about sustained funding.
