Unless you have a time machine I'd suggest you stop living in the past. We have enough current problems to deal with.

Slavery has become an excuse for not moving forward. Was it reprehensible? Yes. Does it apply to modern day? No. In fact, while slavery is horrible, the descendants of slaves have it much better here than they would in modern day Africa.

    Live in the now brother.

Of course you would say that. Your country would collapse if you had to pay for your crimes. Talk about welfare state

This is very true. This country is also propped up by many non-white countries. Without those countries, this one couldn't sustain itself and it would collapse.

What country are you from if you don't mind me asking?

What non-white countries prop up the US?

If by "prop-up" you means corportations out-sourcing our labor jobs to those countries in order to get richer, I think you have it backwards.

That's not what I meant. I mean raw materials, natural resources, cost controls via cheap labor and other economic benefits, etc.

I just suggested it was for cheap labor and you cited what I was talking about in your response....

As for the other stuff, thats true of every country. No country is self-sufficient we all have imports/exports, it's the basis for global trade after all.

My mistake, I thought you were trying to make it sound like the benefit was exclusive to the country providing the outsourced labor.

For your second point, there are diagrams where you see it like a one sided relationship where the US takes, but gives close to nothing in return.

All through history this has been true. There is always a dominent country, or empire, or kingdom, or what have you (or the struggle to be the dominent one).

This country is propped up because it absorbs disproportionately more than it gives. There are several countries that get close to being self sustaining, which is why I feel easy to say that this one relies heavily on non-white nations.

Admitedly I don't have much knowledge on self-sustainment when it comes to countries. What would be some examples of countries like this?

Where to start, where to start. First of all, this country is about ready to go into another Great Depression--or worse. There is no money in the coffers, princess. This country is $18,000,000,000,000 (that's 18 trillion dollars) in debt. Where is this reparations money going to come from? Money doesn't grow on trees no matter how much you think it does.
Second: you Africans have a long history of slavery, xenophobia, and genocide of the 'others'. So why don't you lead by example, and pay reparations to those you enslaved, or oppressed with your brand of institutional racism first, and maybe we'll follow. However, it is worth noting that you are lucky (for now) to be here. You could be living in the hell-hole called Africa--getting your heads chopped off, getting raped, living in a refugee camp, or in a hut with no running water, toilets, electricity, your children running around naked with blotted bellies, sorghum as your daily ration, on and on. Or you could be living in China. Everybody works in China, There are no slackers in China.
I think you should pay Whitey reparations for all the technology that you use, and refuse to recognize where it all came from. It sure didn't come from Africa. In fact, the day is fast approaching when the US will not be able to fund your welfare, meals etc. And when that happens civil society will break down; and after your finished turning this country into a nation-wide Detroit, you will die off, because you do not know the first thing about building cities from the ground up. You are so spoiled, and pampered you will not survive the tough days ahead. We will rebuild. Hopefully we won't make the same mistake twice!

Maybe it keeps coming up because it's true.

On the one hand, he denies anything to do with being African, on the other he claims that black americans problems stem from the evil slave trade.

If you can tell me how something that happened 200 years ago has anything to do with a modern situation I would be happy to listen.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights were written more than 200 years ago and they are still relevant. Wouldn't you agree?
